I remember that I posted here when I had just seen the movie (note I hadn't read the books) and gave it 8/10 in grade.
Now after reading the 2 books, I give the movie 7(or 7,5)/10
Things I disslike:
- Too short!!!
- The ending of the movie.
- Roran and Murthagh's lack of screen time.
- Lack of dwarven main characters (Orik, Hrothgar).
I also think they made a bad choice when they tried to make it PG rating instead of PG-13 or higher.
They should have picked a more experienced crew (director and screenwriter), since both of them was inexperienced.
It will be interesting to see how the screenwriter will do now considering Roran and Murthagh got really big roles in the second one...
Also Arya left to go to elven land in the ending, so how and with who will Eragon go there with?
I have only seen the movie once, so I can't remember evrything in it, before I post more here I'll borrow the DVD when it comes out or something.

I have the movie a 2/10......Absolutely terrible..they didn't have Katrina...they didn't have the Twins..the battle scene was about 2 mins long...Terrible movie..

ok so i JUST saw the movie. now i havn't read the book yet but im guessing ill like it better.
ok so i though the movie was good but they could have done better. 1st off they could have incorporated more and made it longer. and i personally think they should have shown more of the relationship b/w eragon and his dragon ( name is escaping me right now) progressing. i think it went to fast. it was just like boom they're conected.
now the ending was great that was a good choice especially if they're going to continue ( and with that ending im guessing they will) but again it would have fit better if there was more to the movie.
in all i think ill have to give it a 5/10

It was entertaining, but I would class it in the "Generic D & D movie" rather than a classic of any sort. There were some good performances, but overall, like the book, extremely disappointing.

I did NOT like Arya at all. They did WAY too much of her. To me (This is only my opinion) the whole movie was just an "Arya And Eragon Circle Of Love" Eragon's all like: all over her and stuff. That's all I can post right now, my mother is kicking me off...

The problem is, I think it actually made money. They might try a new director for the next one but... I see it happening.

But how could they? *Starts listing reasons off on fingers* No Katrina, no Twins, Arya went back to The-Name-Of-Her-Home-Land-Escapes-Me-Right-Now, There are other things, but that's all I can think of right now...

It's true, though, the film mutilated the books No offence to anyone meant But did anyone but me find that the camera went along the ground-over the water etc. like it was from an animal's perspective a wee bit too much?

Where the camera sort of goes along the ground, close to it, or along the surface of the water... was I the only one to think that?
