I'm expecting more Charlie anyway. I mean, they already opened the door for it when Hurley saw him. So, Charlie might even be a regular for all we know. Which I wouldn't protest to, likeatall.

I know. Just watch. And with Hurley going on about how they'll come out of their grave. Full of give-aways But I could use Charlie and Sawyer coming back...

Really? Why? The more I think on it, the more I think the 4th is my favorite season.

They kill off every good character in the third season, and I dont like the forward flashes. If like they want to stuff two different seasons into one - whats GONNA happen, which I think they should just show us anyways, and the stuff going on. Too confuzzling for my tiny brain.

Good point. But I though the flashforwards were a neat idea. definitely creative...

They don't kill off every good character in Season 3...Only Charlie and Eko. And Eko leaving the show didn't bother me much. And I really hope your not referring to Nikki and Paulo as good characters.
Those are the only 4 I remember dying in Season 3. And the only one I miss is Charlie. Eko was fine, but not one of my all time favorite characters. I thought Nikki and Paulo were just pointless.
The Flash Forwards are Important, and needed. And it all adds up in the Season 4 Finale. They could have devoted a whole season only to the Flashforwards, but I wouldn't have enjoyed that very much. I like it the way they did it.
And I suppose they needed to do something different. I mean, there is only so much you can learn about a character. The Flashbacks aren't really needed for most of the characters anymore.

I've only seen Seasons 1 and 4 (I know, I need to catch up...) but Season 4 was incredibly entertaining.
From the episode synopses I've read (and my imagination) I think that flashbacks really were getting annoying and slightly pointless by the end of Season 3. Enough characterization...time to use flashes for turning the plot and exploring larger themes.
Not that I don't like the characterization. I loved the flashbacks. But honestly, you only need to know so much about the characters for a plot to work. There's a balance.
In the meantime, while dealing with multiple futures and time periods is confusing, I enjoyed the flashforward organization. It really kept you guessing.
Plus, you could cover multiple time spans in one season: how cool was it to see the O6 press conference while watching them try to escape the island at the same time?
(Okay, I liked that part. )
But like the flashbacks, the flashforwards might eventually wear out thier welcome if we arrive at season 4-flashforward-time in actual time in season 5.
If that makes any sense.
I'm thinking now that the survivors have been separated by space, time, and who knows what else by rescue and the moving of the island, it will make more sense to flash between their situations.
While focusing on a centric character, of course.
(This is getting so confusing...I do not envy the LOST writers. )

Agreed.

Apparently Emilie De Ravin won't be back as a Regular for Claire in Season 5. But she will be back in Season 6.
What do you guys think about this?
I don't know if I like the idea of waiting until season 6 to find out what is going on with her character.

^Me too. I really want to know what's up with her and Christian because didn't she reject him when he came to see her when her mother got sick (or whyever she was in the hospital)? And now she's sitting with him all clm in some magical shack on the island?
No Claire for a whole season? Isn't that going to be hard to finish her storyline if she's only in a few season 5 episodes when they're only doing half seasons?

Last time I checked, but who knows?
Which makes her being comfortable with him even wierder. I mean, you can't stand him when he's alive, but you can when he's dead? And there really hasn't been as much done with her character as with the others.*tear* It would be a shame to cut her out.

I know! I am so mad about Claire being gone next season--she always was one of my favorite characters, and now with Charlie gone...not having her there is going to be particularly saddening.
Not to mention 1) we barely saw her at all in Season 4 2) They never resolved the storyline of Charlie's death (the list, the ring, maybe some mourning from her) 3) She's apparently undead, living in Jacob's Cabin with her dad and abandoned Aaron and we have to wait two years to know what's going on???
RAWR.
