Okay, I'll say something about Michael Caine! He's SO bloody awesome...well, as usual. Ha ha ha...but seriously. He's got such a cool role in this film...and he plays it so well! He and Hugh play VERY well together! Besides being excited about Christian Bale, I was even more excited that he'd be playing with Michael again! They always do so well together!

I've basically been in love with Christian Bale since I was about 8 years old when I saw him in Treasure Island.
Oh yes Wolverine and Batman in the same movie. I will have to see it.

I loved the shot at the end of the film with the t***s full of the c****s. But that's just me.
I saw it earlier tonight and loved it! I was kind of "eh" walking into it, but in awe coming out. Every single aspect was amazing!
Since this is a LotR forum, I feel it is my duty to point out that Andy Serkis has a role too.

I am about peed my pants when I saw Andy Serkis... I was like woah its Gollum!!!!!!!!! my friend just looked at me funny and shook her head.... Andy played his role so well int the movie, it's nice to see him actually acting and not mimicking body movements
anyways... Saw the Prestige yesterday and 0.p oh my goodness is this one of my all time favorite movies now. I can't say much about the plot that won't be spoiling it so I will just gush about it in general....
Christian and Hugh play their parts to the tee, they are perfect as rivaling magicians, seeking to outdo the other. It is riveting watching them on the screen, never knowing what is too happen next.... Michael Caine was brilliant as well, though I love him in every movie he does. He is just an amazing actor who does his work well, and the accents were on tee to what I thought they would sound like then. I think David Bowie was a nice touch to the semi-historic film... I did not know some of the characters in the film where actually historical characters until my parent's told me...
Back to the gushing. The overall plot was amazing, the twists and turns were perfectly laid out to keep us wondering what the heck was happening. I have to see it again just to catch the subtle hints....
tim i have to agree with you on that astericks quote I thought that scene was jaw-dropping, that last 30 minutes was a sweat-breaker for me, i was practically in the seats in front of me trying to figure out what was going on. Not until I saw that scene did I understand what was happening, and then everything made sense. That was a great move by the director; Christopher Nolen I believe. He made this movie so well that seeing it a second time I will still find things I missed the first time around.....
Overall do not forget that
-every act starts with a Pledge; something ordinary shown to the audience that probably isn't that simple
-every act follows up with a Turn; the magician turns the ordinary something into something extrodianary that makes the audience try and look for how it is achieved
- finally every act ends with the Prestige; a grand act with so many twists and turns, leaving ones life hanging on the edge, something so shocking that it has never before been attempted
Are you watching closey?

I really think that movie deserves to be nominated for Academy Awards. Four awesome actors, a brilliant director, and one twisting yet cool plot. They most definitely deserve an Oscar.

I saw the movie yesterday, it was so awsome, and then Andy Serkis poppin' up with an American accent, beautiful. Did ya ever notice how much cooler everything is wehn ya put a LOTR actor in it?
I had a question though, (cant remember the naems so i'll use the actors') Christian Bale, his character was his double his twin or a clone?

SHHH!! Don't spoil....uh...nothing. Ha ha ha...
Well, when I first saw it...I figured it was his **** *******. BUT, I am currently reading the book in which the movie is based off of. And I'm having some second thoughts about him actually having a **** *******. Mainly because of the fact that Borden knew about Tesla...but then again...oh I don't know. Even though I know how it all turns out...this book is turning out as many secrets as the movie. Mainly just more questions...

Me too! I thought that Borden had a c++++, but my family argued with me until I gave up. Of course, my father thought Jackman's character had set the machine up to save Borden from his h++++++, which was absurd.
