The Lion King I wanted to be Simba when I was little, and I had all of the Lion King stuff, sheets, clothing, utensils, a place mat... everything. I think that's where my love of collecting stuff came from.

Disney is buying pixar... aren't they? I know that they're collaborating for a bunch of stuff in the near future... I think they like each other...

Ooh, I completely forgot about Anastasia!! I remember the evil bloke in that movie used to scare me awfully when I was younger. I haven't seen that movie in years though.

Eww John Rolfe :yuck: I know that's who she really married, but they made John Smith such a more lovable character in the first. Course that was destroyed in the second one...which I guess makes Rolfe more lovable... :wary:

Yay for Anastasia (even though it isn't Disney)!

LOL Pocahontas 2 was kinda screwed up, but John Smith acts like this carefree idiot who doesn't care for anyone else's wants, only his. Also, Billy Zane voices John Rolfe, and it makes me all *mmm* inside.

Anastasia is SO Disney... Isnt it?

I never watched it... Nor have I even in memory ever thought that any prince was good-looking. Well Simba has a pretty hot voice  But then again I am probably the weirdest person ever in that department.

POCAHONTAS BELONGS WITH JOHN SMITH! -dies-

Hmm, being the history not that I am, I laughed at Rasputin, and was disgruntled by the fact that the, aww, which one was it, October rebelion, I believe? had so litle bearing on the plot, and it seems that Tsar Nicholas and his family died in the palace. The actual occourence is far more grim.

Pocahontas was enjoyable, but Lion King is my personal favourite (It's africa, and Hamlet all rolled into one-what's not to love?)

Oh, I know, concering their deaths- ??? LOL in real life, Anastasia was about 17 when they were killed. She was grown up, not a little girl. And yeah, they weren't killed at the palace. More like the basement of a house.

*am being slightly morbid* Though not historically accurate (by a long shot), the plot line in the movie makes a better story.

Saira, I think Anastasia is either Dreamworks or 20th Century Fox. It's not Disney though. But she is lumped together with the Disney Princesses.

^ History is irrelevant in all the Disney movies. Pocahontas is a really sad story as well, and the original Little Mermaid. In a way its bad to get little people into believing that the world is all cupcakes and rainbows, but as you get older, you enjoy them so much for that very reason :)

Not a huge fan of his, but his singing voice :swoon: "Between Two Worlds" is the best part of that movie.

@Sairahiniel don't forget Cinderella. The story's pretty gruesome...

Soo, has anyone watched "The Little Mermaid" lately? I just watched it last night and was completely shocked by the amount of sexual innuendos in there. My cousin and I have an inside joke now where she says "It's gonna be hot in my big kitchen pot" and I say "Booodylanguage" whilst doing some rather provocative dance moves. Poor Disney... :teehee:

Favorite Old-School Disney?

:D

Aladdin
The Lion King (these first two are definitely the ones I watch the most and probably my overall favorites)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (I ESPECIALLY love the music in this one...)
Beauty and the Beast (I just love the story...)
The Little Mermaid (Music again! Haven't seen it in forever though.)
Mulan (does that count? :teehee: )
Pocahontas (like...obsessed with that when I was little.)
101 Dalmations

As for Anastasia, I enjoyed it, even if the history was laughable. (And it's not Disney!) Sigh...I think I really fell for Dmitri though. :P

Yeah... gotta love when you watch these movies again when you're older and realize what you missed....

I love old Disney, esp. the live-action ones Walt Disney made while he was still alive. :)
My favorites:

Treasure Island

The Light In the Forest
Ride A Wild Pony
The Moonspinners
Snow White

YES. The classic live-action Disney were amazing. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Robin Hood, Moonspinners, Treasure Island...Some of the best movies ever. I loved them. Then they had to go all modern. :disgust:

Mmm, as for the animated...LOVE. I think Mulan is the most recent animated one that I love to death. My absolute favorite will always be Beauty and the Beast though. The story...amazing! And the music is awesome too. Aladdin comes in a close second. Plus, I was always in love with Aladdin. Tis sad how no one else is on here. :teehee: Psh, princes. Street rats! Well, Shang is cool too.

THe lion King is DEFINITELY the best movie EVER, second only to the Lord of the Rings! I love that it's not based on a true history, so there's nothing to mess up. And there's no love-at-first-sight stuff, Nala and Simba were friends forever. And the songs are so much fun!

Aladdin was awesome for me too :P I remember it was one of the three cassettes that my grandparents had - Snow White, Cinderella and Aladdin. They also had this original one called 'Gay Purree" that I loved. I asked my mum to hunt it down an amazon for me xDD
