X-Men Origins (I shouldn't even have to explain... this is going to be awesome.)
CoN: Voyage of the Dawn Treader (Wooohoo, with more Skander, what's not to like?)
Inkheart (YES, YES, Andy Serkis. EPIC WIN. Marry me Andy.)
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (Hope to go see this one in a California IMAX next summer!!)
The Princess and the Frog (Looks awesome, I'm definitely gonna have a girls night out to see it.)
Alice in Wonderland (just brilliance, and I'd bet anything Johnny will have SOME role in it.)
The A-Team (I think they're going to ruin it, but I'll tenatively watch anyway.)
Shifting the Canvas (looks like a great film, and definitely my type of plot.)
Sherlock Holmes (and kung fu? I'm doubtful... but we'll see.)
Jane Eyre (Yes, they're remaking it. I'm NOT happy about Ellen Page as Jane. *growl*)
Star Trek (Grrr, don't like the guy they cast for Scottie.)
The Last Airbender (YES, new Shylaman film!!! *dances*)
Halo (I'm SO glad PJ is helping do this! *more dancing*)

I don't know that much about upcoming movies, but there are a few I've heard of that I'm interested in seeing.
Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Inkheart
Star Trek
The Hobbit (if it does come out within the next 2 years)
The Eye of the World (I see 2010 and 2011 for release years)
Hoodwinked 2 (Hoodwinked is one of my guilty movie pleasures )
Then, there are some that I'm hesitantly looking forward to. I might want to see them, depending on what I hear about them. I'm also not sure if some of these will actually be release in 2009 or 2010.
The Illustrated Man
The Invisible Man
Dune
Fahrenheit 451
The Last Airbender
Sherlock Holmes
The Twilight Zone
Wuthering Heights (I hear it's going to be done completely in semaphore code!)
Alice in Wonderland
Then, there are some movies that I'm dreading, but I'm morbidly drawn to them at the same time.
The Birds (remake)
Jane Eyre (remake- right now, I'm pretty much dreading this one. lol)
My Fair Lady (remake- definitely dreading this one.)

Oh my gosh Lenya, I nearly just died. Don't do things like that to me. If there ever is a Wuthering Heights in semaphore code, I'm so going to see it.
Anyway..movies I am looking forward to.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Princess and the Frog
and the Public Enemies movie looks good. Good actors and 1930's crime time. Love.
Ach, My Fair Lady remake. Morbidly fascinating. I may see it if only so that I feel I have the right to complain. But I may not, because seeing it would give them money and make them think people want a remake. Arg.

Ah I completely forgot about Shyamalan doing the Airbender movie. Thanks for the reminder FM. Should be interesting. Is it due 2009 or 2010?
Halo I thought was dead in the water for the time being.
*gasp* You don't like Simon Pegg?? He's awesome. But not my first choice for Scotty. I really wanted Paul McGillion, but Simon is a surprisingly decent actor and I think he'll do well...and if not well there's Zachary and Karl to make things right.

If they manage to make My Fair Lady a 15 rating. I will cry. They'd better not add anything that George Bernard Shaw would not have even considered adding.
And if they don't cast someone decent as Henry Higgins, and who ISN'T Hugh Grant, I will definitely cry, as I'm sick of him playing the same kind of upper class Brit and making the enitre world think we're all like that. Hmpmh.

Lenya:
Oh, forgot about Dune, definitely interested in that one. And what's this about The Twilight Zone?! I haven't heard anything about this...
Phoenix:
I heard a rumor that they'd resumed work on Halo and plan to release it Christmas of 2009... but of course it may have been completely unfounded. I've got my fingers crossed though. And I believe that the Airbender movie is scheduled for release early in 2010 sometime.
Simon Pegg just doesn't strike me as the Scotty type... and I guess I'm feeling doubtful he can pull it off. I haven't cared for him much in the films I've seen him in either... but it's mostly just a personal preference thing. But we'll see, hopefully he will be bloody brilliant and my doubts will be put to shame.

I heard he does have a small role in the movie, at least. I haven't seen Simon Pegg in anything, so I'll just have to wait and see. I find the My Fair Lady remake morbidly fascinating, too. I read that Kiera Knightly is wanted for Eliza... no comment. I do hope they choose a good actor for Higgins, someone that will do the character justice. FM: I read about The Twilight Zone when I was looking over a list of upcoming movies. This is about all I could find about it. Quote: Warner Bros. is seeking material for a feature take on one or more episodes from the classic TV series "The Twilight Zone." - Not seeking to remake an episodic movie, as the only big-screen version of the show did 25 years ago, but rather hope to build one continuing story line based on one or more episodes.
I'll be keeping my eye on that one.

FM: I really hope so too. I really like him a lot and I know a lot of people are skeptical of his casting. I do think he'll get the comical element of Scotty pretty good though. He has fantastic comic timing and his facial expressions crack me up.
Elenya: I've heard the same Paul McGillion rumour too. Shame he wasn't given the role. But I can live with Simon. Shame you've not seen anything he's been in. I highly recommend Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Just hilariously funny movies. Not to mention his awesome tv show Spaced.
I'll stop with my Pegg love lest I go on and on.

Wuthering Heights? 2003 wasn't that long ago. But I'd be up for it.
And Sherlock Holmes? I'll have to tell my sister. She's read every single story.
And My Fair Lady? Wow... well.. that indeed should be amusing at least.

I actually think Keira Knightley could do a pretty good job as Eliza. We all know she'll scrub up well for the Embassy Ball scene anyway.
I just worry about Higgins and whether it's going to be a musical or not.

Yeah, I can see her pulling it off. But yes, that was what I was thinking about... just seeing modern actors doing a musical is an amusing image (especially with the mention of Hugh Grant).

It depends if it a musical. It might be that instead of calling it Pygmalian which most people will not connect with My Fair Lady, they could be calling it the latter, as that's the title most people are familiar with.
If they do it right, they wouldn't need someone famous or well known to play Higgins, as Knightley would be the star name it would need to attract people.

I don't know how I missed this the first time, but WHAT? I am hyperventilating right now. RJ's book on screen? Oh my. I am thrilled and dreading it all at the same time. I suppose I can't really talk now, as there's no information out there, but...but.....AHHH!

The Chronicles of the Dawn Treader: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) and Star Trek XI: Name unknown as of now.
I will NOT see Toy Story 3 or Cars 2. Those are films that don't need any more sequels....stupid PIrates influencel.

I have yet to see a movie version of Wuthering Heights, so I am rather interested in that one.
I think I'm just having a hard time picturing Keira as Eliza. I kind of hope they do make it a musical- the songs are great. I hope they pick a good Higgins, too. He's one of my favorite characters in movie-dom.
Golly, Nurr, that's the second time I've just about killed you in this thread! I'm excited about the Eye of the World movie, too. I have a hard time following all the plot lines in the books, and a movie would probably help me understand them better. Plus, it would probably be just pure amazingness.
