I'm also a pretty recent convert to Doctor Who (since 2009) and it's all thanks to Raivynn Phoenix. She kept pestering talking about it and suggest I check some episodes out. I've never been a fan of aliens and sci-fi so that's what always put me off about the show in the past. I've always been a huge fan of time traveling, however, so that's what persuaded me to check it out in the end.

I wasn't keen on watching episodes with Daleks or Cybermen at all (I had seen a few episodes featuring them at Raivynn's) so I found some episodes that were less alien-like and decided to start with them and see how I got on. The first episode I watched was "The Girl In The Fireplace" and that was me, done. I was sold. I checked out several other random episodes (such as "The Shakespeare Code" and "The Fires Of Pompeii" among others) and really enjoyed those as well and when season 5 started, I considered myself a fan.

Since then, I've seen all episodes of the new series (9th, 10th and 11th Doctor) and I call myself a proud Whovian. I've never been more happy to be proven wrong in my whole life! Eleven is my Doctor, but so far I think Ten has had the best episodes.

I've been watching Doctor Who for a while now, and I think it's just awesome! Eleven is MY Doctor, lol. I'm really excited for Series 6 right now, because I just watched the new trailer! Does anyone have any theories as to who River Song is? My favorite Doctor Who monsters are the Vashta Nerada, and the Weeping Angels. But they're just SO scary! Well, at least that's what I think. :D

Look, i realize nobodys posted on this for a while, but.....
I love Doctor Who. I only started watching it last August, and am more than halfway through season 4. I just watched the episode where the Doctor and Donna met River Song.

I like 10 better than 9. I dont know why exactly....but I do. And Rose has been my favorite compainion. Haven't met 11 yet....

I could see it tomorrow at 8.45 PM, but the TV has already been claimed by my brother, who sadly doesn't understand the importance of this monumental episode :'-( Good thing we can still record things!

I really enjoyed the episode! And no, I don't think it causes big canon issues like some people say. It was great!

YES! I really liked it :) Loved the combination of the three Doctors (especially Ten and Eleven fanboying over eachother), but John Hurt's Doctor was also strong and touching at the same time. And I'm very happy about what they did with Billie Piper :happy:

John Hurt didn't have a 'number'. He was just "The War Doctor".
