^ Oh, I see what you mean! I didn't even make that connection when I posted. Ah well, if people haven't been spoiled already then they must be living under a rock.

Larael wrote: I am beyond excited for this. So much so that I've been really selective about what sort of spoiler-ish material I watch/read. I have seen the beginning of the trailer, but as soon as Voldy and Harry jump off the cliff I couldn't watch anymore. That was enough to give me a heart attack. However, I have been reading quite a bit [mainly Mugglenet.com's report from a pre-screening of DH2 in Chicago]. So, while I haven't seen much visuals I do know most of the major changes that will occur, including the cliff jumping bits. It's going to be verrry interesting. What? You only watched half of the trailer?? How could you NOT watch the rest when you had clicked Play? That's self-control beyond my imagination! And knowing there's even more Snape in the end... So what did Mugglenet say about the pre-screening? Links please? I can't believe this thread is only on page two now and the first trailer for DH2 has been out for weeks already. And it is the last HP-movie ever!! Has the fandom really died out already??? I mean I'm not even a HP-fan (umm.. umm well, not for like realz.. you know.. ish! ) and I feel more excited than a lot of you guys!!!

I see what you mean Personally I get more fangirlish afterwards. I find it kinda hard to get extremely excited beforehand, mostly because there's only so much you can say about what you think will happen. Also I think if you talk too much about what you'd like to see, chances are you'll end up disappointed when you actually see the movie. So I like to be silently superexcited beforehand, and then after I can talk for aaaaages about the good things, the bad things, and the downright mindblowing things

Hahaha, I'm the complete opposite. If there is something (a book release, movie, Lady Gaga tour, you name it.. I'm not picky! ), I'm even remotely interested in and the media and people start to hype it up, you can be sure I'll be converted and hop on the wagon sooner or later. I love the hype but as soon as I've seen the movie or the premiere is over (or I didn't go to the concert), I couldn't care less about it. Makes me a shockingly disloyal fan actually.. But I think a lot of people have moved on from HP. The Harry Potter fandom never was strong here because the books had to be translated so we got the books late (they were considered children's books so I don't think they were even widely available in English before book 3 or 4). I went to see DH1 like a day after it premiered and there were mostly adults and the people seemed to be more like "Dude, have we got more popcorn"...

Haha I agree I think I just read it straight through and the punctuation didn't register in my brain...and yet the sentence still made perfect HP-sense, just in an unintentional way It's really sad that HP fandom has died down a bit! I mean I'm sure there are still the die-hard fans that grew up with the books and will therefore cherish them forever, but I expect there are also quite a few people who may have been obsessive fans when they were younger but now feel like they're a bit too old for the fervor. Or maybe it's just gone on too long for people to maintain that level of enthusiasm? The first book was released nearly 14 years ago now, and it's already been almost 10 years since the release of the first film. It's a lot to ask fans to keep up the hype for that long If there had been more than three LotR books to film, I expect the same thing might have happened - it was the relatively short period of time between the beginning and end of the series that allowed the level of excitement to stay high. ...but I'm still excited Sad, in a way, because it's so odd to think that the era of a new HP film every so often is coming to an end, but it's going to be epic, so I won't complain too much. No, that's a lie, I will totally complain about deviations from the book if necessary, but I won't complain about the [i]series[/s] coming to an end

I feel the same way, Arwen! It's difficult for me to articulate just what it means to me to have the series completely end with this last film. It's literally been 10 years in the making, and HP has certainly been in my life that long, if not longer. However [and I'm not sure how aware A-Uers are of this], there is a significantly large HP subculture that seems to have evolved as part of the fandom, and I don't think it's showing any signs of stopping after this film. I went to an HP con, Infinitus, last summer in Orlando, Florida, and it blew my mind. I thought I loved HP, but there were people there who make HP their day-to-day living. It was amazing to have thousands of fans gathered together in that way! If anything, the con made me realise that the fans are truly what keeps the fandom going. I mean, look at LotR - those books came out decades ago, and they still have a strong fanbase. So for me, I don't think HP will ever truly die. Sure, I'll have much larger priorities, but the memories will always be there, as well as the books and films. I can still read the books now and discover something new in them each time [very much like LotR!]. Anyway, enough of my rambling. But seriously, if you haven't been to an HP con you must go! They are quality fun! It's not too late to register for Leaky Con 2011 this summer in Orlando for you American folk, or you can always sign up for Ascendio 2012 [again, in Orlando] for the next summer. I'm not being paid to advertise, I just had a really good time at Infinitus. EDIT: @ Eä: I'll find those links for you ASAP.

I'm a big fan of Harry Potter! I am just SO excited for the new movie! I listen to MuggleCast a lot, and I've seen the Potter Musicals by Starkid Productions. Anyway, that trailer was EPIC. Really excited! I can't wait to see how everything plays out and what the epilogue looks like.

Have you started listening to Hype as well? No, but I've been to Hypable.com a few times. Andrew, Eric, Micah and Richard are so funny!! How long have you been listening to MuggleCast? I only started just this past year.

I started listening around episode 50, which I think was way back in 2006. It's been a looong time. Unfortunately, a lot of regulars haven't been on the show, but I really enjoy having Richard on more regularly now.

I can't wait to watch this one. The first part of the movie is annoying xD hahaha! I mean, it's the reason why I'm so craze, waiting for this movie to come. There's no actions in there, only when dobby dies It's not action but it's so sad. Anyways, I'm about to read the book It's weird since I already finished watching the movies 1-7 but I still didn't read even the Sorcerer's stone lol! I guess I'm too lazy to read books.

Yes yes. I'm on my way to that thing. I'm sure I'll love the books, but I just don't have enough time to read it. My mom is so noisy xD I can't concentrate whenever I read

Aww. Has anyone seen all of the new posters out there? Check up on MuggleNet - there are literally like 20 of them that they've collected!

I've only seen one, and it wasn't very good - at least not compared to the posters they made for Part 1.

So ticket sale started here yesterday.. haven't got mine yet.. but I will. They are having a two-day marathon with all 7 movies here. The first 6 on Tuesday 12th and DH part 1 and 2 on the 13th. I'd love to go just to the DH showing but that's not possible.
Also, they say DH:2 is the shortest movie of them all.. *sad*
