You sing Arwen?? Never knew that. I sing in church right now. And I like to sing along the phantom music just to see where I can get, hehe, I love high notes even if some times I sound ridiculous

I loved this movie! It made me cry all 9 times when I watched it. They prerecorded it and liped sing it, well you can get that loud. I mean if you have it on digital it sounds a bit more clear and better.
I also got a club if anyone wants to join!

I don't blame Gerard Butler for having a low voice, he's an actor, not a perfect singer, but it wasn't bad. That's why some people think the choices for the cast members weren't very good.

Oh and to answer your ?.. They lip sync to thier own voices. In other words, they did all the singing. Except for Carlotta. lol
Which is ironic because Carlotta is the only one that actually looks like she's singing.

I very much like PotO...
I actully read the book afore I saw the movie, so that was interesting, seeing how MUCH they changed...
But actully the changes are all for the better, for example, in the book, Raul just tags along after this character called The Persian, who does all the thinking and saving of the day... Raul's actully quite the whimp in the book.
But the musical is awesome. I espesially adore The Phantom, Gerald Butler may have many weaknesses with his singing, but he generates so much emotion into his voice, you can't help but forgive him.
Quote: I wish I could sing the Phantom songs, but Christine's are mostly too high for my range, and Raoul's and the Phantom's parts are too low, and if I move them an octave up then they're too high
heehee, I have that same problem a lot... Except I can much of the time match a tenor's vocal range, so I have it a little easier... though I don't sound too great when it starts going down!
Ah me. The joys of being an untrained singer, eh?
*just looked at the clock*
Yikes. I'd better get to bed, big day tomorrow.... darn, and I'd hoped to get some Silmarillion reading in before bed... oh well.

I absolutely LOVED it!!
I saw the real live musical twice before I saw the movie, so of course the live show will always be the "real" Phantom of the Opera for me! I was a little bummed that they left out some scenes, that the Phantom wasn't a better singer (I love Gerald Butler, he's not a bad singer, but definitely not as good as the Phantom really is supposed to be!) and that the chandelier didn't crash in the scene it was supposed to. But other than that I couldn't be happier with the result

in the original play it crashes during the Il Muto opera scene, which causes panic and Christine and Raoul to run up to the roof. I remember sitting in the audience and the whole chandelier actually goes down right above your head... very very cool indeed.

In Raoul-Book's defense I must say that there is a more heroic personality to Raoul in the books but yes...he does have his cowardly parts but who doesn't?

For some reason Patrick's character as Raoul kind of troubles me. He's great in it, but it makes he kind of makes me feel more sorry for the Phantom. I guess there's just holes in between.
