I watched the season premeir episodes. I'd never seen the show before, but I have to say it was great. Can anyone give me a brief summary of what's happened in the past seasons?

Uh... Wowzers... there is a lot to cover. 24 is almost as bad as LOST at times, if you miss an episode, you're sunk.

That link has each season, and each hour plot summeries. It is the best thing I can think of for you to get caught up. There is sooo much and it all keeps tying back together.
 LOVE THIS SHOW!

A friend told me how awesome it was, so now I'm going to watch it. And I did here that Sean Astin was in it. What part does he play?

Sean Astin is playing a thourough, perfectionistic agent from district. He ends up being an asset, at least so far... you never can tell with 24... you think they're great, then they're the epitome of evil... so far, he's a little presumptuous and pushy, but a good guy anyway.
Shieldmaiden: You are quite welcome!

OMG! I love 24! And when I saw Sean Astin (sam wise) i laughed so hard. He's really smart in 24 2.... wow. They've been adding hobbits to a lot of shows recently.... hmmm it would be funny if they had Frodo join the OC or something...

You know, I don't really watch this show. I happen to catch tidbits here and there, but definately not a die hard fan like so many of you. (Though I do think Kiefer rocks) Anyways, I happened to see Sean Astin in apparently a recent (?) episode (that's what I'm assuming - you can see how pathetic I am when it comes to this show) but I did a double take and just started laughing hysterically and nearly fell off my bed, books and all. Ha ha ha. So, I HAD to watch it...and it was awesome! Yay for Sean Astin and Kiefer! Ha ha ha!

But we can't wave fists at them (unless we have an anger problem, but even then its still wrong) They got us into a good thing. I think.
