I'd love to se The Magicians Nephew made into a film, I know it is only about the history of Narnia, but it has always been one ov my fave books. I'd also like the Alex Rider series to be made into films.

They will do all of the books into films! it's all been announced! they're gonna do Prince Caspian, the Dawn Treader and the Silver Chair first, and then they'll go back to do the others, so yeah the Magician's Nephew will be made! :)

Movies I'd like to see made: Well, if and ONLY if they were done in a good way, with quality animation and voice acting, I'd like to see Erin Hunter's Warriors get made into a movie or two (although I think they'd actually be better suited for a TV show). Also I want them to make the rest of the Narnia books into movies, and good ones! The Hobbit, if done correctly, is one I'd look forward to as well. (I'm horrendously picky about movie quality...)

Movies I'd like to see remade:
-Eragon. 'Nuff said.
-A Series of Unfortunate Events. A nice little picture that was cute, but that had NOTHING to do with the books it was supposedly based on. And if they remake it and do a good job I'd be a very happy girl. (except of course that would mean getting a new actor to play Klaus, which would make me quite sad...)

I would love for some of the Forgotten Realms books to be made into movies.

i'd love shadowmancer to be made into a film. it's a wonderful book and it ran like a film in my head, so i think it would look great on the screen.

i'd like to see a few more daphne du maurier books made into films too - she's always transferred well to screen. i'd start with the house on the strand and rule britannia.

plus, i've already started writing a screenplay for a film adaptation of fran's war by sally trench - it's a story that more people need to hear, and a film seems a good way of telling it to them.

obviously they're only the books i want to see made into films. i'd also appreciate it if people started writing more ORIGINAL screenplays.

I also think all of the great classics deserve their own huge epic masterpiece of a film;

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Peer Gynt (with music ofGrieg of course!)
The Call of the Wild
Alice in Wonderland
Christmas Carol
David Copperfield
Jane Eyre
Moby Dick
Oliver Twist
Robinson Crusoe
Treasure Island

All the amazing children's books by Edith Nesbit would look amazing on screen as well, like;
The Railway Children
The Enchanted Castle
The House of Arden

And of course all the tales of the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen!

And all the Astrid Lindgren books which haven't been filmed yet (and some of the films should probably be re-made)!

I'd also want to see all the amazing Swedish and Scandinavian folktales come to life on screen. I want to be a film director in the future so that's what I'll be doing for sure!

I also think some of Wells' books should be remade WITH accurate turn of the century England. I don't want that crap with Tom Cruise with the Martians appearing in the 21st century. You have no idea how mad I got when I found out that the War of the Worlds was in 21st century America and the Time Machine in New York. Completely ruined the books. I would also like to see a Sharpe movie with, of course, Sean Bean as main actor.

Much agreed.

I would also like to see a good Eragon, for heaven's sake, but we will be waiting a long time if it ever happens.

As much as I enjoy seeing great books translated into film, I must agree with what has already been said - I'd like to see more good, original, fun, stand-alone movies. For example, the first PotC. Brilliant. It was original, fun, and felt great as a whole. (Then Disney just HAD to go out and squeeze all the money it could out of it...but...whatever.)
Now it feels like every movie made needs a wide fan base, a prequel or a few sequels, and it has to adress major save-the-world issues. None of these things are bad, there's just a specific time and place for them. Other times, it is just fine to make a smaller but still good movie that a group of people will like, and enjoy as a good time at the movies.

I totally agree. And Time Machine was just :blink: The score was bloody excellent though!
