I'm not much of a television person either, the only thing I really watch is Doctor Who, and sometime's the news. Other than that I stay away from the telly all together.

With the arrival of reality TV, in my opnion, television programs have gone down in quality dramatically, thus I have lost a lot of interest. The only things I watch are dramas, like Lost, or the odd crime detective story like A Touch Of Frost.
But with every channel having a different reality tv show on every month i have just avoided watching the box in the corner.
Also programs I used to really enjoy have become dull and repetitive, the biggest example being the Simpsons. It used to be one of the funniest things ever but now I just watch it and feel like I've seen this episode before, so that's another show I don't watch. American Dad and Family Guy are hilarious programs, so much funnier and refreshing but both aren't shown on TV over here.
Reality TV is the main reason for my late hatred of the box. Every month it's a new X Factor, Pop Idol, Big Brother etc etc. And they try to make intresting with a new wacky twist, the main being "lets have celebraties on it instead of ordinary people"
For one thing these are not usual celebraties in the true term. Celebraties are people who become famous because they are good at something, a sport, comedian, actor, presenter etc etc. A celebratie in one of these shows is a famous person's ex wife, or someone who had an affair with someone else (Perhaps this is just in England).
This agrivates me beyond belief, the amount of times I spent watching them and saying who is this person?
And the people who are addicted to these shows, i mean obsesive, people who spend days watching the live feeds on tv. I just think it's sad. There's a wonderful world out there with great things to see and do, people to meet, but instead people think staying indoors watching people lazing around in a garden entertaining.
In my personal and educated opnion I feel that television has become boring and reptetive.

^ I pretty much agree with you. I can't believe the new reality TV shows channels are spitting out each month. "9 people are living underground for a month. The prize is $100,000,000. What will they do to win?" Or, let's watch Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie act like idiots and destroy peoples propery in the Simple Life.

I mainly watch Lost & Family Guy. Too bad the seasons are over. :(

Since I'm by myself at home a lot during the day, I usually have the TV on just for background noise, but I couldn't even tell you what's on at any given time. When it comes to the shows I follow, I detest reality TV of any kind. I like Gilmore Girls, Monk, and House though.

I very rarely watch TV. I have a few gentle detetive dramas I like but they are only on once a year. Most TV is rubbish and should be avoided. Any programmes I do watch I record so I watch them when I feel like and I can also whizz through the adverts. I'm more of a film fan myself. ;)

I don't watch TV as much as I used to at all. The only shows I watch nowadays are Lost, South Park, That '70s Show and CSI:. I absolutely agree that TV has pretty much gone downhill over the last couple of years.

I'm just curious, because lately I have really no interest in TV whatsoever. I still love movies, but regular television just seems so...fake... to me... Does anyone else feel this way, or am I alone on this one? :confused2: :bye:

you are not alone! i only watch MTV, and movies, and a few little kid shows with my nephew, (well, he's my second cousin, but he's 3, so i just call him my nephew!), he really likes playhouse disney and PBS kids type stuff, can't blame him, i love that boy, he named me here at A-U, his name is Cade. but other than that i hate TV, i might watch spongebob when the mood hits, but thats all. :-D

Thats really funny 'cause I can't stand to watch TV anymore myself. I thought it was just me. So nope, you are not alone.

I like TV, but only a few shows. Stargate,(Atlantis and SG-1) 24, and Jimmy Neutron. America's funniest Videos is really good, especially the older ones with Bob Saget. What I can't stand are reality shows! They bug me like none other! A lot of them are obviously scripted, others are plain stupid, and most of them are both!

I really don't watch it anymore either.
The shows I watch on occasion are Law&Order *hugs, Everybody Loves Raymond, and occasionally, not even that often, Saturday Night Live. But I really do love movies!
I'ma Flick Chick.....speaking of, I really like Chick Flicks...;-)

There's just so much garbage on TV nowadays, it's such a waist, and it's terrible for your brain.
