I am sooo excited for Price Caspian! I saw the trailer during the Superbowl for the frist time and I was very happy. I knew that they were making it, but it seemed like FOREVER since the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe came out. I think it will live up to the expectations set by the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Is it rated yet? Last time I saw the commercial it still said "not yet rated"

Saira, I can see what you mean. When I was little me and my brother and our cousins, wow, we used to play/pretend movies or tv shows ALL the time! We all sort of had our own characters who we played. We WERE those characters. For me it was Legolas most of the time… lol but you’re right, to kids anything is possible. That was a very poetic way of putting it, Saira, and so very true. and I guess I’m sort of trying to hold on to that imaginative side… of course it’ll never be like it was when I was little, but that doesn’t mean I still can’t retain a little of what it was like when I was little, you know?
NED (mind if I call you that?), it has pretty much been forever since LWW! About 3 years, right? Oh, I’m sure it’ll live up to expectations… it looks totally awesome (not to mention, it's got Caspian and Reepicheep in it! how can it go wrong? )! I cannot wait to see it!! hmmm, I think it’ll probably be PG-13... Although I can’t find anything for sure now that I look around.

I CAN'T WAIT for Prince Caspian. I hope to see it in theaters on opening day, maybe even opening night, if I can talk my mom into it. I hope it is going to be the best movie of the year. Prince Caspian is one of my favorite books and so are all of the Narnia books in general. I can't wait to see how they do it. It's going to be sweet.

you're welcome... I'm glad you liked it too. It's actually the last quote in the whole series. And thank you... I rather like my siggie too. Although I was planning on changing it soon (surprised?). I've just been to lazy to get around to it. Well, that and the fact that I do still really like it. But maybe being left behind like that might kick her into believing in Narnia again? After going through such a tragedy it might snap her back to what's real in live. I sure hope so at least.
I thought it was a pretty neat name too!
don't worry, I couldn't forget you, Pip!!! although we’re probably too old to go now.
Well, I don't think we actually did reach a conclusion to our previous duel. All I recall is that I argued that my husband really was a pirate, where yours wasn't. I think we lost track of what we were doing.
*looks it up* And so it is! What a nice way to end those books. Well, this new one's very nice too, of course. It has to be, it has Will on it. We can only hope so...
"It's not true! Tell me it's not true!" *runs around clapping* "I do believe in fairies, I do!"
Anyway...what's all this I've heard about on IMDb about a Caspian/Susan bit? Not that I completely believe them, but does anyone have a legitimate source saying that's really going to happen?

Bala, I know! I really, really, really hope I'll be able to see PC opening day... I'm gonna beg and plead so someone will take me. and after seeing the rest of the movies that are scheduled to come out this year... I'm sure PC will be up there.
Anie, hmmm, now that you say that I don't think we ever did either... lol, but that's just us! We get off talking about Pirates on any given subject and then we loose the whole point of the conversation we started out with!
I thought it was too. a good way to wrap it all up. thanks! well, but of course! Anything Willabeth absolutely rocks!
ummm, now I'm sort of confused. but that's not really anything out of the ordinary!
Caspian/Susan? I haven't heard anything about that!! Yuck, I hope they don't twist that into the story somehow... that's just... wrong. although, I would say not to completely believe them until you're actually watching the movie for yourself... wow, but now you've aroused my curiosity... I might have to go searching for further info later tonight...
anyway, has anyone else seen the sweet new commercial about reading and how it opens up new places? The kid gets on the train and begins reading a book after the conductor has stamped "Narnia" on it. and it shows clips from LWW and a bunch of other neat stuff... I thought it was just brilliant.

Well, I'm rather excited about PC... The trailer looks really cool. But, I can't remember anything about the story at all. So, I was wondering, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, if one of you fine PC-obsessed people might give me a short sumary of the plot... I do intend to read it. I'm just... busy.
(I asked one of my friends who had read the trilogy recently to sumerize it for me, but I think she mixed the books up. According to her, Prince Caspian had to sail to the end of the earth to reclaim the throne from his uncle. And, on the way, he met some one-legged creatures, apes dressed as lions, and a prince tied to a chair. I was like, "this doesn't sound right!". )

True. That seems to be one of our weaknesses. Aye! Avast! Well, you see, you said we're too old to go to Narnia and I got so depressed I thought maybe the fairies would take me if I told them I believed. I'm really not quite sure, I just felt like quoting Finding Neverland. Yeah...that's just what I've heard, of course. And as we all know, IMDb is not such a great place to find information. It seems out of character for Susan to let Caspian kiss her, like I've heard happens at the end of the movie, and anyway, I remember one of the producers or something promising there wouldn't be any of that nonsense... Oh well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Good luck with your detective work, Merry! SWEET! Where's this?! I wanna see it! Oh, and everyone who gets emotional at movies be sure and bring tissues for the ending...I've just remembered that that's when Peter tells Ed and Lu that he and Susan won't be coming back to Narnia anymore. Okay then...your friend's gone and mixed up Caspian, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Silver Chair and Last Battle. Please tell her to read the books again. Anyway...let's see if I can be of assistance.
Caspian is the heir to the throne of Narnia, but his Uncle Miraz doesn't want to give up his throne and he can't off his nephew because he doesn't have an heir. He (Caspian) isn't in any danger until his aunt gives birth to a son - so Caspian's wise teacher Doctor Cornelius comes to him in the middle of the night, tells him of his uncle's plot to kill him and helps him escape. He also gives him Susan's horn from LWW, the one that if blown will bring help no matter where you are. Caspian meets up with several Old Narnians, most of whom have either died off or gone into hiding since the Telmarines took over, and they want their country back. He's going to lead them in a war, but they desperately need more people on their side, so he blows the horn and that ends up bringing the Pevensies from a London railway station back to the ruins of Cair Paravel. They meet a dwarf called Trumpkin, who was part of Caspian's party but was caught by Miraz's men and left for dead. Trumpkin helps them back to Caspian and together they plot to defeat Miraz. It all culminates first in a duel between Peter and Miraz, and then in an all-out battle between the Narnians and the Telmarines. Of course, in between all this Aslan resurfaces and makes everything all right again. I hope that wasn't too confusing...

"Ohhhh dear..." *bangs head on wall*
Actually, if they make it natural and don't force it, it might be okay. At this point I'll be pretty happy if they just keep their names all the same. Thanks for the link, Nurr!

I actually don't think I'll mind Caspian/Susan. I've always kind of thought they should be together, to be honest. I also have faith that this crew can pull it off well, so I'm just interested to see how they do it. It might be kind of sweet.

TT, really? your friend said that? lol well, I guess it's sort of right.... ??? kind of... I mean all those things do happen (kind of ) but not to Caspian and not all in the same book. wow, I've never heard a summery quite like that! but anyway, listen to Anie... she's got it right!
Anie, all too true... sad thought it may be.
(you just had to add that, didn't you? )
ahhh, now I understand... of course! but fairies and Narnia aren't connected are they? hmmm, I don't remember fairies in it at least...
well, it's on tv... I just checked YouTube and I couldn't find anything though. it's put out by the Ad Council I think... or some name like that.
that's right. Man, why does every movie have to have sad stuff added in anymore?
Awww, really? it's all true then? meh, I dunno if I like it or not...maybe once it sinks in. Maybe. It just doesn't sound right... but I guess as long as it flows with the story and is explained... maybe then... but I'm sure Melda has the right attitude. We just need to have faith in the crew to pull it off. Just to me it's come as a shock because never ever did I expect that while reading PC... I mean with Shasta and Aravis I expected it (;)) but this is just... wow. a little weird... I shall have to let it digest for a few days.

Anie - Did she??? I shall tell her! I thought her story sounded very... odd. It was a long confusing summary, and I was completely lost. But thank you for your summary. It all makes sense now.
PD - "sort of right...??? kind of..." I'm going to have to read these books again!
About the Susan/Caspian thing - It doesn't happen in the books? Well, I'm the kind of person who doesn't like things that are added to movies which weren't in the books (even if I haven't read the books... ), but I actually kind of think that might work.

See, I've read the book, and Caspian/Susan made me go "...yeah, I kinda like that idea." I trust the makers of Narnia implicitly - I had not one criticism to make about LWW, and I'm sure PC will be just as good. I sorta consider Caspian/Susan a bit of an added subplot. Besides, I don't think it can go much further than a brief attraction on both sides, because Caspian doesn't see Susan again. Which is actually really sad. But all that to say, I don't really mind.

As I've stated in other places, my main reason against Caspian/Susan (besides being a crazy Narnia purist) is that Caspian would be waaaay to respectful and in awe of the Pevensies to even have the thought of kissing Susan cross his mind. Remember, he grew up listening to stories of the Golden Age of Narnia (~2000 years ago) when they ruled. He sees them as great kings and queens, not kids around his age. In the books, he's too in awe of Peter to even talk to him hardly. It's like the legends of the past coming alive in front of him. It'd be like, oh, me falling in love with a Roman emperor or something. (CS Lewis does make the connection between the Pevensies returning to Narnia as King Arthur coming back to Britain.) So I just can't see any type of romance in that context.
I'm still excited for the movie though, and I think they'll be able to pull it off well.

^ I agree completely. Caspian is such a dignified character, and the though is just... -shudders- Awful. Im SUCH a purist, especially with Narnia, more so than I am with LotR
But I AM looking forward to the movie...
