Yeah... A bunch of my friends went and saw it and said the same thing as you did, that the funny stuff was in the trailer. I think that if I go see anything this weekend I'll see Children of Men again. THAT movie was fantastic

The last movie I watched was Gattaca. Wow, I never would've guessed how good it actually is; wish it had a catchier title. It kept me with it so I wasn't willing to pause it for anything. Really good. I re-watched it this afternoon and want to see it again

theatrical. i should probably get the director's cut at some point.
i just watched the car man. it's another matthew bourne production (that's right, i love that guy) using music from bizet's carmen. i prefer bourne's swan lake, and i don't think he'll ever surpass that, but this was still absolutely amazing - powerful and shocking, and wonderfully danced and acted. the most blood you'll ever see in a dance piece.
before that, i watched evidentia, a film by the ballet/contemporary dancer sylvie guillem. i wasn't so keen on the last two pieces, but the first three were great. guillem's absolutely mesmerising.

"The Calcium Kid" with dear Orlando Bloom. Excellent film!! Ha ha ha!! Makes me laugh! I wonder why Orlando doesn't do more films like it, he's rather good at comedy. Oh, and Billie Piper was in it!! Ha ha! Crazy world!

"Ultraviolet"-- I have a fetish for movies with girls and samuari swords, don't ask why It was very good though, if not a wee bit weird.
