Cool, that is nice to hear.
I can just hear younger kids complaining to no end because there parents won't let them watch due to a higher rating
lol but no, it really is good since that proves they can make a good movie and still keep it decent. (now days that is becomeing a rarety)

*pokes head into to thread*
I just read PC a while ago... and I love it. So I am extremly excited about the movie.
It's rated PG? *shrugs* That makes sense... A lot of younger kids read it, and the first one was PG too. It just... looks a lot darker.
"True, true but I always like to be pessimist when films are concerned, so if things are bad, I expected it and if they're better than I expected then I'm doubly happy."
 That's my theory too.

Ooh, yay for the same theories!
Yeah, we get everything later than you guys (usually, sometimes mega films are released at the same time, like POTC: AWE), even DVD releases. *grumbles that's she's a month away before she can see Sweeney Todd again).
I think the only reason that Narnia would ever be a PG-13 is the fighting scenes, which admittedly if we never saw anyone get knocked around, or any blood or wounds, it wouldn't be very realistic and we'd be left wondering why characters were worried about the coming battle, if no-one got hurt. Perhaps one or two of the later films may receive a higher rating as the films get a little darker, and maybe more violent.

yeah true, the fighing could easily ratchedt it up to a PG-13 rating.
I wouldn't be gainst that because like you said, it's war... people die... there is blood and violence... so yeah i agree there.

Yeah, I would be okay with The Final Batlle ending up PG13 because there's a lot of darker stuff in that book. (As dark as you can get with Narnia, anyway. ) But for the next couple of movies, PG shpuldn't be a problem.

I'm not sure if I would describe Prince Caspian as darker, exactly...I think the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is probably darker, when you consider there's always winter with no Christmas, etc. Prince Caspian just contains more fighting, and in all truth there's hardly any in the book. I can see why they'd need to play it up for the movie, though.
As for the rest...they're all very different books. Voyage of the Dawn Treader might be a little darker because of the various things they discover on the islands. Horse and his Boy really isn't dark, Magician's Nephew has some evil in it but is really a very cheerful book, and the Last Battle contains more thinking so to speak but is about as light as a book can get in my opinion.

I can sort of see what they mean if they say they aren't going to make many more Narnia films.
I'm kinda guessing they are only going to focus on the books that contain the main 4 kids, so I suppose the stories that are pre-quels to the Narnia that Edmund, Lucy etc know, they aren't going to bother with. They probably won't even bother with the Magician's Nephew, as I suppose really as a cinema audience, we don't need to know how the Professor came to know about Narnia. Or we certainly don't need a whole film to show us, he could just tell us and maybe there would be a flashback sequence.
It's been a few years since I read the books, so I can't remember all the details, but I remember thinking when TLTWTW came out, and it wasn't too long after I had read them, that were a couple of the books they could miss out, and it wouldn't really affect the flow of the story.
@ PD - Ah, yes. I had forgot we had AWE before you. That must have been a slip up though, it was so odd we didn't have it at the same time at least.

I personally think PC is going to rake in a huge amount of money, so it should have Disney reconsidering. At the very least they should do TLTWTW and PC and then the Voyage of the Dawn Treader and the Last Battle. Even if they don't do the others, the story isn't really complete at the end of Dawn Treader.
Though my personal favorite is The Horse and His Boy, so I really hope they do that one.

I also really want to see The Horse and His Boy made. I would just hope that movie fans are able to appreciate all aspects of the Narnia mythology, including the (way interesting) prequels, even if they are side stories apart from our 'main' characters. So, let's see all seven movies made!

Well stranger things have happened, but I'm not too sure I can see that happening.
After getting audiences new to Narnia, interested in the plight of the same characters, I'm doubtful if they would try and make the prequel stories, or even the parallel stories, in the hope the same audience will take kindly to a new age and new characters.
I suppose a lot will also depend financially on how well this next film does. It's being released at the wrong time really. This summer is going to be one of the biggest in years, and fantasy films seem to do well near Christmas, so I don't know if it might affect the profits, coming out in summer and with so many other films that are going to be huge.

Aaahagh. That's depressing, but probably true.

No, I think VDT is confirmed, because Eustace has been cast and I believe they're in pre-production. So I think we'll for sure get that one, if not Last Battle.

sweet, sounds cool. I have to agree, the story wouldn't be complete without at least voyage of the dawn treader.
I wonder if they will even bother doing the silver chair? I never liked that one near as much as the others.
