NOOOOOOOOOO.

There is a new TV Spot and Susan and Caspian KISS in it. Yes...KISS.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJEvaZ5ilXY

I was hoping they wouldn't actually form a relationship in the movie. Wasn't in the book. I'm not a purist and some changes don't bother me. But this is out there.

You know... this is verging on spookiness....

When Kit posted the pics for her PC contest and I took a closer look at them, I found Susan's picture to be almost on the verge of predatory, and it did cross my mind that she looked... how shall I put it?.. erm... well inviting, shall we say, any young males to try their luck and I did wonder briefly, if she and Caspian.. *ahem* ... yes, well look at the pic and see for yourself. Frankly, that look scares me and I'm Ok for changes in book as well... but if Aragorn and Eowyn had kissed people would be up in arms, so I reckon it's Ok for us to be the same way.

Wow.... that is a bit... disturbing. I got to agree, some changes are ok... but that is a bit much.

They always think they need to add romance to a movie when all I have been looking for in the past years is a good movie WITHOUT romance!

That's one of the reasons I liked the first Narnia movie so well.... *sighs*

As someone on YouTube said, why is it with films these days that contain members of either sex, that they feel the need to include references to romance and things like that. Especially when young adults are concerned.

^*sigh* well then I guess it’s official…:erm: they do kiss after all. But maybe it’s only a quick, little thing… hopefully. Although it's still too bad that they feel like they have to put that in it. *sigh* I mean it would be a sweet edition IF it was in the book! :headwall: as it is it’s kind of weird. And Susan and Caspian are my two favorites too… :annoyed2: why in the world do they have to mess with things THIS much? I wonder who's idea it was.... :karate:

but, yes, happily Voyage of the Dawn Treader is going to happen... I just hope they will still make the other three (other then The Last Battle, I mean). :erm: it will still be stupid if they don't... so what if some people don't want to get to take the time to get to know new characters? :eyeroll: it's fun to meet new charries and to learn about them too. It adds more to the story and to the world they're trying to show to you. But I know how fickle and stupid people sometimes like to be when it comes to movies.... *sigh* but I think Disney will at least give it a go. If there's even the slightest chance of money involved they will probably be all over it. At least for one to see how it turns out. And all the books go together. ALL of them. If they chop the series up that will just be... wrong. I wonder if Walden Media got complete control over the movies if they would make the whole series. :P

Melda, do you know who they cast as Eustace?

If they don't do all the books I don't see how they can do The Last Battle. Aren't all the characters in that one? Like PuddleGlum and such....No one would know who he is if they didn't do SC. But he is in The Last Battle isn't he? It's been awhile since I've read all the books, but I'm sure all the characters from all 7 books show up in The Last Battle. They would either have to do all the books or leave some characters out. Which isn't a good idea.

Hmm, well if that's the case that all the characters appear in the Last Battle... and it would be ridiculous not to make the Last Battle when that is the conclusion to the story, it seems just as silly not to make them all.

I mean, it's like not making ROTK or AWE.

If Disney would just film the movies back to back like LOTR and the Pirates sequels, getting them all made wouldn't be that big of a problem.

That's true. It seems to work very well doing films like that.

I suppose we'll just have to see though. We could speculate all year really. :P

I'm definitely going to have to read the books again before the films comes out in June.

That is very true, Bala. I actually didn't think of that... but if all the characters are in The Last Battle (like I think they are at some point or another (especially the characters from Magicians Nephew)) then it would be kind of stupid not to show how they got there. Unless they completely erase characters like Puddleglum... which they better not!

Maybe they will, Bala. They are doing that for PC and VotDT, really. :erm: the only problem with doing films like that is there's more of a time crunch, but they seem to be able to work through it. :erm: so hopefully it all works out. Personally, I think they will wait and see how PC does and if it does good it won't take them long to start pumping them out a lot. like for PotC. They knew AWE and DMC would do good because they knew they had gotten over that initial worry that no one would like/watch it so they now could make as many as they wanted, knowing it would draw a decent crowd.

You know, I'm thinking I may be wrong about Eustace being cast already. I thought I'd seen it on one of my NarniaWeb newsletters, but as I can't find the newsletter, I don't know. From what I glean off a couple random Google searches, they're either in the final stages of casting, or Zac Efron is slated to play Eustace. As that particular report was posted on NarniaWeb April 1st, you can very likely take it with more than a few grains of salt, but I personally thought it quite funny. But yeah. The only thing I read is that they've narrowed it down to about ten actors, and VotDT is supposed to begin filming in Mexico November 2008.

Also according to NarniaWeb (and I consider them fairly reliable) there are plans to do The Silver Chair once they've finished VotDT, and then tentatively The Magician's Nephew, then The Horse and His Boy, and finally LB. Which I think if probably due to the excellent point that all the characters appear in LB so it doesn't make sense to do it right after VotDT.

Anyway, that's been my sleuthing for today :)

Freddie Highmore would make a good Eustace I think. Although to be honest I can't remember much about the character. :p

Eustace seems like he'd be a difficult character to act, from what I hear and how many times I've read the book. He starts out as an absolute jerk, but you actually like him by the end, meaning that the actor has to pull that off believably. Should be intriguing.

Well Highmore is a good actor, so I'd be happy to see him play anyone in Narnia.

Well, that's alright. ;) but *gulp* you've GOT to be kidding me... I pray those are just false rumors about Zac Efron being Eustace!!! :hide: one, he's too old, two, that would really take something away from Narnia for me... :erm: Funny? I think it would be rather horrifying. I really hope they pick the right person out of those 10... :(

Awesome! I'm happy to hear they are going to be carrying on with the rest of the movies though! :-D The Silver Chair is going to be a sweet one to see. :) one of my favorites.... I'm happy to hear that. Thanks for the update, Melda.

Freddie Highmore? Oh yes he would make a good Eustace too. he's really one of the few young male actors who are good enough to be able to portray Eustace.
