I'm pretty sure you call disregard the Zac Efron thing, Call :) April Fool's, I'd stake...well, not my life...but a lot on it. No problem.

Personally, I don't think Freddie Highmore's quite right. I'm pretty flexible as far as Eustace goes, however, cause I never really had a mental picture of him.

I have seen clips of High School musical, so if anyone seriously was going to use anyone for any character in Narnia, I would be willing to commit murder to make sure that didn't happen. Seriously.

I'll take anyone really, as long as their British. There are enough unknown and known British kids out there with the bona fide accent, so I don't think there's any need for an American who can't quite get the accent right.

I grew up on the BBC adaptations and so I've always had a very clear image of Eustace. I can't remember how he is portrayed in the books but in the BBC series he was this really obnoxious, rude and quite... eh.. chubby kid. So that's how I've always imagined him as and for me it'd be weird to see a skinny or thin Eustace.

I'm very excited to see Prince Caspian - though I will most likely compare it to the BBC series. I prefer the BBC LWW over the 2005 film.

For those of you who are BBC Narnia fans (or for those of you who always wanted to see it) I uploaded the entire BBC Narnia series to my YouTube channel over a year ago - yes that would include The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian/Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Silver Chair!

Just go to my YouTube channel and watch:

I was brought up with a lot of "Sunday" BBC children's adaptations, CON, The Borrowers etc, I even have all the Narnia's on video... but meh... after so many times watching them I got sick of them, and I've never really looked at them favourably since, although I did watch them again about 4 years ago and they weren't as bad as I remember. Some parts of them are better than others, but it's not perfect.

It's going to be weird hearing a Spanish Caspian though. Samuel West is just.... ... and he played Caspian in the BBC version (one of the better casting ideas the BBC had) so it's going to be hard seeing this type of er.. young... wild..Caspian.

I sorta fell in love with Caspian the second I heard "I am Prince Caspian." Like, instantly. I *heart* him. I haven't got much that's complimentary to say about the BBC series, and I don't really remember Caspian from there, but I do think he's pretty darn awesome in this one :-D

Yeah, that sounds about right for Eustace. Blond and a bit chubby. And obnoxious, of course.

Eru, I LOVE you! Those are just the dearest movies! *raptured*
I agree about Eustace, I like the way they did him in the BBC. That boy *is* Eustace. I also am very partial to the older, and younger, Caspian. I think the older Caspian is perfect, he will always be Caspian to me.
*goes to watch*

@JF - I watched The Borrowers too back in the day! I loved that series. I agree about the Spanish accent for the new Caspian. I bet I'm going to sit there and just be bugged by it throughout the whole movie. I LOVED Samuel West as Caspian too.

@Melda - I know the BBC adaptation isn't for everyone but it's what I grew up on (been a fan of it since 1989) and it was my first introduction to the world of Narnia. I just can't help but prefer it.

@Nienor - YAY another BBC Narnia enthusiast :D Enjoy the videos :)

Oh, yeah. I can see myself sitting there, arms crossed, fuming and unimpressed. You Spanish puppy. :annoyed2:

I think what I'm going to do (I've got time, it doesn't come out in the UK until 26th June) is read all the books again, and then watch the BBC series. Even if it does mean I have to live through Tom Baker's performance as Puddleglum. ;)

@ Eru - oh, I know. If I'd watched them since I was little they'd probably be my favorite too, I just...haven't :P Similarly I can't help but prefer the new ones, so to each her own! It's probably rather unfair for me to criticize, too. I haven't watched them in a while. Though I think we own tLtWtW and PC and VotDT...somewhere...

The old movies were actually pretty good I thought. Me and my sister and brothers used tow atch them everyday almost. lol

But yeah, I have to admit the new ones seem to be better. I am sure much because they had better technology and the special effects and 3D graphics were tons better.

I was, however, very satisfied with the casting of the new movie. The kids that played in the new ones (although they don't look like the old characters) fit the part perfectly.

Hmm. I'm not really big on the BBC versions, but to each their own. I think they did a decent job on LWW, so I'm looking forward to PC. Not to mention I most totally agree with Melda on Caspian.

They showed LWW on ABC tonight, so I got to watch it again for the first time since it came out. Some things still annoy the purist in me...I suppose I have to deal with it though. They also had a bunch of promo stuff about PC, which was interesting. They showed Reep's debut scene. I love him.

BBC Narnia *shudders*
No offense to anyone, but I can't stand them, even when I was younger ( I first started watching them when I was like 6 or 7) I couldn't watch them they were so ridiculous.
I'm so glad they're coming out with newer versions of Narnia. I am in no way a purist, so I'm fine with the changes. :p
And Ben Barnes IS Caspian. :D

Guys, I can assure you, it's a false rumor :P April Fools. All the way. There is not going to be a Zac Efron Eustace.

lol, that's the reaction I kinda expected from you, TT. ;) happily it was just a joke...

anyway, are we talking about the BBC Narnia movies now? Hm, I've never seen them... I've thought about it but no where around here has them to rent..... soooo that's my opinion! :-D I shall just be sticking with my Disney/Walden Media movies, I guess.
