*looks at picture* Um... who are they meant to be? *looks at names underneath* ... no comment. Probably safer.
I think it's amusing that the actor going to play "Brom" was the voice of Scar for the Lion King. And Galbatrox was "Huma" from Hitchhiker's...
I agree that a lot of the actors looks rather modern. We're going to have to have a lot of faith in the wardrobe/make-up department ... and they haven't really inspired my vote of confidence so far...

I had no clue who anybody was, except for Durza (kind of obvious... how many characters are there with red - really red, not orange-ish - hair are there?) Murtagh, and Eragon.
Me: *blink* *blinkblinkblink* ... AAAAAHHHHH!!!
The only ones that looked remotely like I'd imagined were Eragon, Murtagh ( ) and Zar'roc

Yeah, I sent that to people...while screaming...and bashing my head against the keyboard...
WHAT DO THEY THINK THEY'RE DOING?!
Seriously! Durza looks like one of the borg. Isn't Ajihad supposed to be bald? Eragon...I think it's awesome that they have a kid who hasn't acted much before, but they could do better with the hair and costume than that!!! Arya...I don't even want to call her that...she's..she's BLONDE! I can't believe that! And what's that in her hair, a dead bird? Brom is okay, but I always thought he had longer hair. But Murtagh? Nooo! He looks like..like SNAPE!
*runs off sobbing hysterically*

I agree with Aragorn, actually - Murtagh and Brom are the ones that look halfway decent, but the rest....definitely NOT how I imagined them! Especially Arya.

I thought Arya wore black, and had DARK hair? What the heck is going on there?
And I don't even think Murtagh looks okay. He looks... oh, I don't know... *Joins Nie in the screaming and bashing head against keyboard*

It's so annoying, though. I don't even think they should be making this movie..everybody is pushing so hard to make money in the fantasy industry they aren't paying that much attention to quality. I want to finish the series before I have to see the movie! (And, being someone who's really in to acting, it's annoying that I'll never get a chance to play Arya or Katrina... )

Here we are with a special sneak preview of The Eragon Movie!
Murtagh and Eragon rescue Arya
Eragon: Wow, she sure is pretty... But what's that in her hair? A dead bird??? *Pokes*
Dead Bird: SQUAWK!!!
Eragon: Aaaah!
Murtagh: It's a demon!
Eragon and Murtagh: Kill the bird! Cut its throat! Kill the bird! Spill its blood! *Eragon pulls out some large, blunt object and starts bludgeoning Arya. Monty Python-like blood sprays*
Arya: Gurgle...
Eragon: We killed it!
Murtagh: Yeah... but is that red stuff supposed to be coming out of her head?
Eragon: Hmm... I don't think so.
Murtagh: I know! Let's drag her all the way across the continent, and have at least 300 near-death experiences on the way!
Eragon: OK!
Durza: *Appears in a puff of smoke* Fear me and my flaming red hair!
Eragon: Never!
Durza: Yes!
Eragon: No!
Durza: Yess!
Eragon: Noo!
Durza: Yesssssss!
Saphira: Here I come to save the day! And to cause hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage in the process! *Tears off roof* ROOAAR!
Eragon: Yay! Die, you ugly Borg-like thingy! *Stabs Durza. More spurting blood.*
Durza: Darn. There goes my toy deal. *Dies*
Note: I do adore the book. It just seems like this is how the movie will end up... *Cries*

Now I haven't read the book yet, but I have it and have two more books to finish before I read it. So I don't really know what's going on obviously, and I'm not one of those people who posts about stuff they don't know. But, my friend Brent said it was an awesome book (and he has great book choices) so I'm looking forward to reading it. If it's anything similar to Shannara (I believe he said) then I think it would be an awesome movie! Of course there will still be things butchered I'm sure......

Okay, I just watched the teaser trailer! Go to: http://www.shurtugal.com/ The clips they had in it look a whole lot better than I thought they would but Arya still looks terrible in it. There is also a bit of Saphira shown

Gah, the resolution is kinda crummy, so I couldn't pick up a lot of details. You're right, it doesn't look awful, but it doesn't look particularly bookish either. Eragon, if not modern-looking now, looks way more Scandinavian than I pictured him, and Arya is just......grr, WRONG! Come on, even Joss Stone looks more like my mental picture of Arya than Sienna does.
Ah well, I'll see it anyway, wherever I am in a year and a couple months...

I love the guy they picked for Eragon. Arya isn't exactly how I was thinking she would be, but I still think she looks great.

OKay... well, it looks like the film might be good, so long as you ignore how it deviates from the book. It looks like it might be a reasonable film in it's own right... I guess. (I'm being opened minded here)
Arya looks cool... but I honestly thought she wore black... she kind of reminds me of the White Witch (who also looks nothing like what I imagined, but this is not the thread for that!) And Eragon looks way, way too modern. In that regard it reminds me of "A Knight's Tale" which I am sure is not what they wanted!
*shuts up*

Yeah, and I guess if they get Saphira right I could watch it without throwing random things at the screen.
