I said 3 days before I move house...I meant 3 days after.
Either way, still be too snowed under to think about cinema and fun stuff like that.

I saw V for Vendetta last weekend and I absolutely LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great acting, great action, a script that needs to win an Oscar, good story (but you should see it twice to fully understand it), pretty to look at, and good music. Plus, Hugo! I highyl recommend it to all.

Great explosion in the parliament building's destroying scene. Great music as well.

*revives thread*
I just saw V for Vendetta for the second time last night, and last night confirmed that this is my new favorite movie. I love the story, the action, the humor, and the questions it asks. It was made by the Wachowski brothers, yet I think it is much deeper and made me think a lot more than the Matrix movies ever did.
Remember, remember the fifth of November!

Hey, I saw this movie last week. And I ABSOLUTELY loved it!!! It was amazing. Of course, about the first 45 minutes, there were people talking (literally, just standing in the aisle blabbing) and then people had little children that wouldn't shut up....bah....But I managed to hear most of Hugo's sultry voice... Ha ha ha.
I thought the story was really really good. I at first didn't want to see it, because I thought it'd make me angry and frustrated (for reasons I won't bring up), but I walked out of there actually feeling hopeful. Strange, I know...but it was a great movie! I really want to see it again, but I don't know if I'll have time.

People brought their little kids to see it? Crazy.
I can't wait until it comes out on DVD.... August 1. That's so far away! Usually I buy the cheapest version of the movie available, but I might have to go for the 2-disc special edition on this one.
*points to avvie*

Yeah!!! It was ridiculous! And then there was a couple right behind me that kept making out during the most bizarre scenes. Rather disgusting. Not exactly a make out movie.
Ooooh! It comes out on August 1?! That's SO exciting! But yet, so far away....*sigh* Yeah, this movie, I'll definately have to purchase! So good!
And I LOVE your avvie by the way! Yay for V!! Oh. I forgot to mention, one of my favourite parts is when he introduces himself to Evey...SO funny...but you could tell by the way Hugo said all his "v"'s that he's a theatre actor... At least I could...ha ha ha.

Really? haha I wouldn't know... that is interesting to know though. I think Hugo is an excellent voice actor. He has such great cadence in every movie he's in, and its different for every character. In the Matrix, the voice really makes the character, even though he isn't behind a mask in that one. And obviously, in V, its all about the voice as well.
I love the scene when he first meets Evey as well... and the continuation of that scene, on the rooftop, at the "concert." bwahahaha its so great. The look on Evey's face throughout the whole thing is priceless.

*points to avvie* I want a set with it! PLEASE? PLEASE? PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE?!?!?!?! I saw the movie on the opening night in my country, on April 7th, my best friend is a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE Matrix fan and also a fan of the makers of the movie, and she had been annoying the living heck out of me to go see it with her for over a YEAR before it came out, and I didn't even know what it was about, lol..when I saw it, it tottally went beyond my expectations, it has become, right after the LOTR trilogy, my fave. movie of all times..right after I saw it, I annoyed my mom so she could get it for me, so she did, recorded from the cinema, hehe, I'm SUCH a pirate is not really the best quality, but I can't complain, I've seen it over ten times and I love each time, lol... and I'm SO getting it when it comes out on DVD! I hope I can get also the specials Quote: Really? haha I wouldn't know... that is interesting to know though. I think Hugo is an excellent voice actor. I agree, I never thought I'd say this, but he sounds VERY sexy ..I just love the whole story, the fact that you NEVER know who he is, the fact that he wears a mask, makes you actually want to listen to what he has to say, to his ideas, like he said "beneath this mask there is more than flesh, there's an idea"
the movie made me think a lot, and yet I understood it, I thought it was an awesome story

its based on the story in an anarchist comic called warrior.i remember it well.we did not expect americans to like it because of the politics.the mask is based on guy fawks who tried to blow up the houses of parliment inthe late 17th centuary.every 5th of november we set off fireworks in his memory.

did they change the name of the comic? because I saw it at Barnes and Noble, and it was still called "V for Vendetta."

Yeah, Guy Fawkes was a guy in like the 15th or 16th or 17th century who, with along with a whole bunch of other people planned on blowing up Parliment on November the 5th. The official website for the film has a whole thing about Guy Fawkes, and you can go to Wikipedia.org, because they have a whole bunch on the comics and the movie and Guy Fawkes.
V was just a character from the comics. The movie changed quite a bit...you should read the stuff in Wikipedia on that. Interesting.
But the rhyme "Remember, remember, the 5th of November" was actually a rhyme back in Guy Fawkes' day that made fun of him and his foiled attempt at blowing up Parliement. Interesting, very interesting.
Noldor, I'm surprised too, at how many Americans enjoyed the movie. But the article in Wikipedia talks about the angle it kind of takes...(remind anyone of any current administration?...). SO, just read that. But I think so many Americans enjoyed BECAUSE of everything that's going on. But it also got so much criticism because of it. But that's why this country rocks...FREE SPEECH! Okay. Enough before I go completely insane and get banned from this forum.

they had this independant cmic called warrior and v for vendetta was inside it.also there was a graphic novel and an american reprint with vfor vendetta all on its own.but it was originally serialised in warrior.the trouble with british comics is that there is no sustainable market for anything exept 2oo0Ad.there is something out from wildstorm at the momant called albion, using characters from 1960s comics like vulcan.

Caunion the Frost Lord wrote: Yeah, Hugo Weaving plays in that movie. But something I don't get is some parts of the trailer, Natalie Portman has all of her hair. I guess they used a wig or something or filmed that part before she shaved her hair.
they actually shaved her hair real!!!
i saw it on tv they were shaving her hair really!!
