I would have to say the X-Men movies because of there sheer entertainment value and quailty cast.

I also enjoyed the Fantastic Four - that was just fun film.

The Hulk was a bit disappointing although Eric Bana was good.

Spiderman is good but much to serious and althought the action scenes are well done any emotional scene tends to drag and is handled clumsily.

A lot of people I feel completely misunderstood what Ang Lee tried to do with the Hulk. They saw the trailer and saw lots of "HULK SMASH!" but Ang made it more about Bruce's inner demons which for me personally was fascinating. I am one of the few people that enjoyed the Hulk movie.

If you watch Daredevil, try and make it the Directors Cut. It's much, much better than the theatrical. They made too many bad editting choices and made DD look rushed. But the DC puts it all back together.

Elektra was okay, but it made her too soft. Elektra is a hard, tough as nails character. Again the Directors Cut is way better than the theatrical.

The only Marvel Movies in production or scheduled are Wolverine (2008), Magneto (TBC), Spider-Man 3 (2007) and Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer (2007), Ghost Rider (2007)

Deadpool is only a rumour, there is no production at this time. Although I'd love it, Wade is one of my fave Marvel creations. Put Ryan Reynolds in the red suit and bam you have Deadpool.
There is no confirmation on any new X-Men movie..although I suspect if they do make one, it will feature the younger cast. The X-Babies are an entirely different thing and IMO won't work on the big screen, they should remain in the comic.

The Dr Strange one I haven't seen but I have seen the Captain America one (it's not black & white) and it is utterly horrendous. But then..I don't like Cap generally anyways.

I seem to have went on and on and on...sorry.

i liked the hulk movie.nick nolte was brilliant as his scary father.yes elecktra was abit too soft.it was all in the style of a live action anime movie and done badly as usuall.they should have given it to quentin tarrantino.i loved her outfit.i could sit and look at that stomach all day!a magneto movie?i wonder how they would do a silver surfer movie.for deadpool i think they should cast the guy who played riddick in pitch black.the dr strange movie i heard about in starbusrt years ago.it was a silly made for children thing.speaking of which, there is a net rumour of a power pack movie.actually i loved power pack so i hope it wont be total *beep*.marvel zombies was awsome!and i loved DPs own comic title.i oftern dig out my whole collection and read them.somebody came into the comic shop and said"wheres the agent x back issues?"
"in the deadpool section"
"well that spoils the mystery dosnt it"
everybody laughed.

Nick Nolte was very good as Bruce's dad. But (there's always a but lol)..turning him into the Absorbing Man? bad move imo Wasn't keen on the Hulk dogs either.

Tarrantino directing Elektra would have been interesting. I know a lot of people didnt like Jennifer Garner as Elektra, but I thought she was pretty good and put her all into the role. Bad script and editing makes the movie look worse than it was.

The Magneto movie is set to be a young Magneto so they're not sure if they're gonna cast a younger actor, or re-cast Ian McKellen and use the CGI they used on him in X3 to make him look 20 years younger.

The Silver Surfer isnt getting his own movie just yet. He's going to be in FF2 first, that's what I meant by Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer. That's supposedly it's official title.

Ryan Reynolds has already said that if a Deadpool movie is ever made he wants the role. Vin Diesel is an interesting choice though..

Haven't heard anything about a Power Pack movie. It's never appeared on any list that Marvel have released about movies they plan on making..Some were ditched like Iron Fist, but others like Thor still look like they might get made in the future.

wow the FF must be up against galactus then.i wonder who will get to say galactuses lines.maybe john rys davis.the guy in pitch black may be a different riddick.as he was not diesel.its an australian movie about some people who survive on an alien planet.magreto was always one of my fave characters in marvel.there was a great story where he totally trashes the x men.i love to see a supervillen win.i always though it was a shame when i started reading them in the 1970s that the heroes had to win all the time.somebody said they wont do any more spiderman movies.maybe he will have a tv series instead.
make mine marvel.

The Wolverine movie isn't a rumour. It's definetly being made and should be out in 2008. There's a script and it's basically good to go.
I can post you a link if yer interested. Not sure if it's totally legit, it's a rumour. But I've read it and it sounds amazing.

Ghost Rider is gonna kick so much...*bleeeeeeeep* it's not even funny.
I can't wait to see it. I love Ghost Rider. :swoon:

If you could post a link please that would be great! :)

I'm such a big fan of the X-men films as I used to watch the cartoons as a kid. I would love to read the comics right from the beginning but I don't know where to start looking for them. I managed to find some in a book shop last week and they had loads but I didn't know what order they were in and they were also expensive.

Ghost Rider looks great! It's probably going to be one of those films that's so much fun..the critics hate it. But I like Nick Cage anyway so I'm looking forward to it...so long to wait though... :annoyed2:

JF: I'd recommend you go straight to Astonishing X-Men. It's written by Joss Whedon (Buffy/Angel/Firefly) and it's absolutely one of the best comic series' I've ever read. To go back to the very very beginning would be extremely costly. Best way would maybe to go to Amazon or Ebay and buy the Trade Paperbacks.

Yeah, I love Nic Cage too. He's one of my fave actors. He is gonna totally own as Johnny Blaze. Pfftt what do critics know anyway? So long as you like it, who cares lol

Anyways...here's the link to the Wolvie script review.

Astonishing X-Men? Great! I'll look out for them! :-) I was hoping that maybe the first issues would have be re-issued (like they do with some comics) so people can still read them bu not at the same cost? Is that what the Trade Paperbacks are?

I saw a huge encyclopedia the other day for all the X-Men characters and for those that were in the films explaining the differences. I was very tempted to buy it as I would love something like that. :-D

I've only seen Nic in two other films - Windtalkers and National Treasure and I like him already. Yeah, critics leave a lot to be desired, they never seem to enjoy a film for it's entertainment value, they are always nit-picking. So what if a film isn't going to be an Oscar winner? If it's entertaining it's a winner in my books.

Ooh! Linky. Thanks for that. I'll go and have a read.

TPB's vary in cost. Amazon tend to do great deals. Best to get the Astonishing TPBs if yer thinking about collecting them in comic form. Gifted is just an amazing piece of storytelling and Dangerous is surreal but very good. I'm waiting eagerly for the next one to come out, as I can only get them in TPB form. Cause my comic store is miles away.
That encyclopedia sounds awesome, that would be a good thing to have. Great for cross referencing.

Happy reading. Let me know what ya thought.

I'll have to look on Ebay and Amazon for them I think, as I would love to read a proper good 'ol comic. I might just ask for the encyclopedia for my birthday. :D

I enjoyed the script. Storywise, I think it's pretty simple but no doubt it will go through a few changes and also it's difficult to tell as there is no dialouge. I like the fact it will show us in detail the experiment Wolverine went under and I also like the bit when he was a kid and he first realised he had these "claws". I'm getting excited already. I'm just hoping that Hugh will be able to make it..it won't be Wolverine without him..

He'll be executive producer most likely. He's definetly up for the role and they're willing to wait for him to be ready to film before starting anything.
I'm psyched about so much about the script so far, Sabretooth, Silver Fox, John Wraith, bone claws *hyper*
Only thing I'm not too keen on is they're setting it not far enough in the past. The Origin comic which some of it seems to be based on is set further back, dating to about the 1800's. No matter as it's a small thing and like you say, things will no doubt be changed between now and filming.
