Charlie and the chocolate factory.

Johnny Depp did a great job in it, but I didn't like the movie itself. I think everything was exaggerated: the factory (too bright!!), the clichés (American, spoilt girl etc), but that's just my opinion.

I think they made the exaggerations on purpose, and I'm sure Tim Burton would love if he managed to provoke or annoy someone with it. :-)

Darjeeling Ltd. - Sort of odd movie, but really great to chill out to on January 1st :P

@Ea: I'm with you on seeing James as a faun. :P But hey, he's a damn good looking faun who can act well in many other things. :P
I didn't ever want to admit I had a romantic side either...but, I succumbed. XD

@Ethelfleda: Oh, I SO agree. Freddie stole that movie and made it his own. PWNED Johnny and everyone else. :P

"The Village". Gah. I LOVE this movie! It's SO brilliant. Night = GENIUS.

Eight Legged Freaks

The total dumbness of this movie makes me giggle. Throw it on the shelf with the likes of "Napoleion Dynamite", dumb comedies and "Mars Attacks". *sniggers*

"The Golden Compass". Absolutely loved it. I haven't read the books though so I can't compare but I thought it was excellent. I know it's been heavily censored on the intended theme but I got the message loud and clear anyways. Brilliant :D

"Arn - Tempelriddaren" (Arn - The Knight Templar). Sweden's [to date] most expensive film ever made. It opened on December 25th so it's brand new. I totally loved it. Everything was perfect. The cinematography was gorgeous and the casting was terrific. I can't wait for the sequel which comes this December!

Wow... I forgot how amazing it is. :D There's something really beatuiful about these movies... :)

Sam: "It's like in the great stories, Mister Frodo. The ones that really mattered.
"Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy. How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened.
"But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.
"Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mister Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. Because they were holding on to something."

Frodo: "What are we holding on to, Sam?"

Sam: "That there's some good in this world, Mister Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."

I get teary at that part every time. :(

West Side Story

Brilliant movie. I liked it. For some reason, not as much as My Fair Lady, but it's pretty close.
