whoever posted the very thorough review, I agree completely with what you said, except I liked Lucy a lot better in this one, I thought she was better character-wise. and the SUsan\Caspian thing...a collective gasp came out of the audience at that part, not from me though, since i knew what was going on, haha. But it was well-handled, and i liked the flirting and I felt like Caspian was really trying to do the noble thing to impress her...still liked that though

the only big complaint i have: the town scenes. I REALLY wanted to see that part in the movie where in teh book Aslan goes to the town and frees the people. I really like that part in the book, but film-[wise, I think it might have made the film even longer than it already was, so I can deal with it.

I loved teh costumes. Especiallly Susan and Lucy's dresses. *faints* I also wish that the Bulgy Bear and the Giant had had bigger parts, but I loved it when the BB piped up and said, "For Narnia" or for aslan, Id on't remember which, lol. The parts that were really heart-wrenching were the ones where Peter had to leave some Narnians behidn in the castle. :'( and Glenstorm's wife crying...*sniffle*; *I also cried at the end, it finally struck me that Susan and Peter weren't coming back and Caspian realizing that he'd never see Susan again...anywhoo*

That's all i have to say...

wait, there's one thing more: I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT AGAIN!

k, I'm done now. :)

Yeah I was sad when Peter was looking back, wanting to save the trapped Narnians but he knew he couldn't- heartbreaking! :( Also when they came back and had to face Lucy and the other Narnians who had stayed behind. :( again

***Oh, btw, did anyone else see the Chihuahua preview before the movie? I was sitting there with my mouth hanging open trying to decide whether to burst out laughing or... not sure. Disbelief.

Earyende, I know! :bounce: there are tons of different things that are so awesome about this movie... I am completely Narnia-obsessed now. :P I can't get enough. lol and PC is so different from LWW... I mean it's not, but it is. In many ways it is bigger and more involved because they don't have to go through introducing you to Narnia again, they can start right in. :-D and I loved the way they started it with Caspian and all.

Fae, aww, I wish you could see it... :(

TT, YES it was that good! I really hope Monday comes quickly for your sake, dear, because it really is fantastic! You'll love it I just know it!!!! ;)

Petra, was that me? my review seemed to be overly thorough lol oh, and I do think I like Lucy better in this one too... but she's grown SO much! :swoon: wow, I was just looking at pics of her from LWW and she looks so young.... :P yes, yes, Suspian was happily very well handled.

I know! The costumes were AMAZING! I want Lucy and Susan's gowns from the last few scenes. :teehee: I know, that scene where you can tell Pete wants to save them but can't was SO hard! That was all really hard to watch... and the end was sad too, as I've already said. But it also woke me up to the fact that after VODT ALL of the charries we love now will be gone for a while. Caspian, Lucy and Ed will be gone too... *sniffle* they will be missed greatly.

Yeah the whole Susan/Caspian thing was well-handled, it was more sweet/flirtatious than really romantic. Just a touch of boy + girl :)

I loved Lucy, but then again, I liked her in LWW. She's the faithful one, she never stops believing. I did like Edmund's comment, when Lucy sees Aslan, but the others don't, and Lucy wants to go after him; Susan and Peter are like, noo, let's keep going, and Edmund's like, last time I didn't believe Lucy, I made an idiot of myself. His time in Narnia in LWW made him grow up and he just keeps on maturing in PC. Well done :)

Costumes: they aren't all fancy schmancy, but lovely, especially at the end. I didn't get a good view of Lucy's coronation dress but Susan's was beautiful! And Susan's dress in the farewell scene is gorgeous too! I noticed that the way the overdress is cut is kind of like grownup-Susan's at the end of LWW- like one piece wrapping around and securing all the way down the front. The neckline and sleeves on it were lovely too!

As for reviews- not exaggerating! I loved it. I don't notice all the characterization, blah blah blah issues- to my (untrained) eye, it was pretty good acting, etc etc.

Arg! I feel so very annoyed I didn't see it today when I come on this thread. :P

Quick question, it's rated PG, right? But, word on the web is that it is far to violent to show younger children. Do you guys agree with that? I'm just wondering because, well, we're unsure whether to take me brother or not...

^ Um... I think it's PG. Apart from swordfights and Susan et al shooting arrows, there's only one part I'd call somewhat violent- one of the Telmarine soldiers is closing in on Peter in the main battle and Peter whirls around and chops his head off. But the soldier is wearing a helm, and they don't really show the head coming off. That was the only part of the movie where I was like, urgg. haha

Yeah I saw the article on Yahoo about how it may be too violent for kids. If they're old enough to understand/appreciate/etc Narnia, then they're old enough to see this.

^Thanks for the info, Earyende. That's really helpful. You would say it's more violent then LWW, Ipressume?

Yep, the Yahoo article was the one I read too. I'm not sure who will see it... I will, of course. ;)

I HATH SEEN IT.

FEAR ZE SPOLIERS BELOW.

THE MOVIE WAS AMAZING! Words can not describe how awesome it was. And I will say it right now, Reepicheep was the BEST. I loved him. The Cat scene....ROFL.
And the Reepicheep without his tail scene was very well done, I was afraid they would leave that out, I was very well pleased when I saw it. And Eddie Izzard WAS The perfect Reepicheep.

Edmund was alot better in this movie. He didn't get annoying, had some good lines/scenes, and Skandar Keynes has really improved with his acting.

Peter was very well done. I liked the whole Peter and Caspian situation, they really pulled through with this. It added alot to the movie.

Susan was AWESOME. She isn't "supposed" to fight, but I loved all the battles scenes with her in it, and again, I thought that added alot to the movie. She reminded me of Legolas when she was throwing those arrows into people. It was great when she shot all those Telmarines on the Horses. Anna Popplewell did an amazing job, she is a great actress. Lucy was great, Georgie Henley is a great actress too. I loved how all the Pevensies were portrayed and acted in this movie.

The scene where the Narnians got trapped in The Courtyard was indeed sad. The saddest part of the whole movie, it was another well done scene though, the look on Peter's face was..Wow, very good scene. And when Edmund flew over them, So sad...

Yeah, Aslan wasn't in the movie much. But I loved every scene he was in. And they did him justice, he was exactly like he was in the book.

I personally think this movie was insanely accurate to the book. Sure, some purists won't think so, but I was just amazed at how accurate and amazing it was.

And Ben Barnes, PERFECT Caspian. Great performance. He is awesome, indeed. Great character. He totally owns the part in my eyes.

Overall the movie get a 100/10 from me. The first movie I've seen in theaters this year and will probably remain the best one I see. I hope to see it again and I can't wait to own it on DVD.

I'm probably forgetting some things, but when they come to mind, I will write about them later. I'm just so pumped right now.

I loved that scene with the Squirrel and Reepicheep you mentioned, Call. Haha, Reep rules.

Lucy: He's cute.
Reepicheep: WHO SAID THAT?!
Lucy: ...Sorry.

Earyen (mind if I call you that?), yup, they handled Suspian very well. And I am happy for it. I was afraid it might be in-your-face and all over but it really wasn't. It was more just a small affection that you could see but you could also fairly easily ignore if you wanted to. :)

I was very happy that they included Edmund believing her when she saw Aslan too! I had sorta forgotten that was in the book, but I am so happy they put it in the movie. Ed really turns a new chapter. He really has grown up and matured. Go Edmund!

Lucy's gown in the coronation scene was pink if I'm not mistaken and very lovely. I thought the acting was very good... lol it was all well handled.

TT, aww, I'm sorry... I hope it's not like we're rubbing it in your face. that's not how it's meant, dear.

Yup it is PG, but TT, it really depends on the kind of child. Some children can take more violence than others. and I don't know how much your brother has seen in movies and such but it all depends on what he's used to. But it is more violent than LWW is, by far. It's not gory or graphic or anything but there are more intense scenes and battles. but like Earyen said if he's old enough to understand it he'll probably do fine.

Bala, wow, I think that's the longest thing I've ever scene you post. :teehee: ;)

But I'm really pleased you like it so much! Huzzah! It was AMAZINGNESS!! :notworthy: Especially Edmund...

yup, the Caspian and Pete tension really pulled it all off for me too... even if it's not in the book it added a lot, as you said.

someone else who hath mentioned when Ed flew over all of them dead in the courtyard! Yay! *high fives Bala* I actually think in the night raid scene Edmund WAS my favorite. :teehee: he was just so amazing!
aye, it kept more accurate than I had feared it would. But all my fears have been put away into a closet for good! It was accurate enough for me. I'm in love with it! :P

For sure! It will be the best movie this year! It HAS To be! I mean, look at it! It's AMAZING! And I can't wait to buy it on DVD either! Or even see it again in the theater...
lol, wasn't that scene just the greatest?

Prince Caspian PWNS!!! Fear it, love it, respect it.

I cannot rave enough about it or the actors or the characters.

Oh oh oh! Something else I thought of- when Aslan roared and the river god (or whatever it is) rose up out of the water, I was like, Ulmo! And then I thought, whoops, wrong story... haha

Edmund falling off the tower and then coming back up on the gryphon was awesome. It was like, the Narnian version of Aladdin and the magic carpet.

Oh, but I post long posts all the time....well, not all the time. Most of time time...No, sometimes, ok, maybe every now and then, you get the point.

I shall get the DVD ASAP as soon as it comes out, the first day it's out, if I am lucky. I love this movie. Amazing battle scenes, amazing characters, amazing everything. It is right up there with all three LOTR movies for me. I must find a way to see it again in theaters. Twas just plain sweet.

Earyen, yes, yes! I loved that when he just slipped off the side of the tower and down onto the gryphon all with that little smirk on his face. lol for a short time there I was like "what is he doing?" but it didn't take me long, of course, to figure it out. lol :duh:

Bala, yeah, we get the point. ;) :P

amen to that! I shall be needing that DVD soon!! :bounce: *patsonback* I hear ya. I love it too! All the scenes and the characters and everything=love. :teehee: It's close to LotR and PotC... not quite there yet because that takes a lot, but it's close. ;)

you know what? I think this calls for the wave   hurray for PC! Come on, do it with me everyone! PC RULES!

TT, lol, I didn't figure that's what you meant, but it just popped into my mind that you might be feeling a little bad and left out right now. :erm: I know, I can't wait til you can see it on Monday! :bounce: then there will be another person to join teh great wave!

So I saw it today! Very good. From a movie standpoint, quite excellent. My purist radar went off at times though. I think I'll have a review up soon, for those who want to sit through and long and detailed discussion. :D

Just two things - Ed and Reep. LOVE.

Reepicheep: We were expecting someone taller.
Trumpkin: Your one to talk.
Reepicheep: Is that supposed to be irony?

ROFL. LOLLOLOL. :-D

Ooo, another person who's seen it and another person who's gonna leave a detailed review of it! Awesome, Nurr! :-D And I'm happy you liked it at least from a movie standpoint.

lol, that was a great scene, Bala! I kick myself now because I didn't bring a pen and paper to write down all the quotes. And there were so many excellent ones too. :annoyed2: oh, well writing in an almost pitch black theater=no fun and some weird writing. lol I did it with National Treasure 2... it was definitely interesting to read afterward, but I got my quotes! :P
