^ Well, some of the wording in LotR is a little hard to stumble over, but I love the story so in turn I love the books.

PD, but, you got to hand it to them, it builds up the excitment, and so more people will go running to buy it. :teehee:

They are. But, lol, my sister and I were whispering throughout the movie... So, I just we're nearly equal. ;) It was scary! :hide: They're laughing and saying "Oh, we should see that". And my family and I were stunned. It is annoying! I mean, yeah... we all know that. ;) But must we dwell on it? There's so much more important stuff about Caspian. And do we have to scream it out to the whole world? And this girl was so young! My gosh, she couldn't be older then 9. (I guess it's not too, too young... :erm: But...)

Will you really? Ohmygosh, thank you, PD! Ah, well... I'm sure they're pretty darn close. :P Well, that's nice that you have that sort of friend. :P Mine... Well, lol, they already think I'm weird. :teehee:
No it's not! My, what year are you living in, PD? ;) It's the same... Or, nearly. ;) If there's a difference, it's only by a fraction of a cent. lol, I pay rather close attention to how our economy is doing compared to yours. 4 dollars? :swoon: I believe I said this before, but I'll say it again, I'm moving to Michigan! :D Honestly! That's so weird!
I'm not sure how I did... :erm: I know, I know. But he is! And, he can't hear me anyways. ;)

Eäryendë, you haven't read the books? :swoon: Yes, yes! You must!
Wait *just realizes* That's not Susan in your avvy, is it?

I'm still in love with the movie. I might be seeing it again tomorrow and cross your fingers that I will. ;) *squeals in excitement*

I know I'm also a traitor, but I thought the Suspian thing was so awesome. I really like it at the end: Lucy: "I guess when I'm older I'll understand." Ed: "I'm older and I'm not sure I WANT to understand." haha. :D Lucy teasing Susan about "if you need to call me again?" I love how they did that. And Lucy and Susan seemed so much more like sisters in this movie; I really like how they were put on equal pedastals with each other.

Yep. Or Anna, rather. I was browsing LJs yesterday to find Narnia icons and found that one... it's very pretty! :D

Eary, wow! yeah you really do need to read them! They are amazing! And the Narnia books are really, really easy reads... and the LotR books? those are MUSTS! the FotR goes a tad slow but that's just because you have to get into the story. Once you reach the second half of the book things get really good. :)

Saira, you should really see PC... it is so AMAZING! Better than I ever thought it would be.

TT, yeah, I guess if you say so... but I still don't have to like them. ;)

I can't blame you for that, I suppose. When my friend and I went we whispered a fair amount and giggled at some stuff too. I hate being the kind of person who annoys everyone, but we couldn't help it. :P and it's not like we were REALLY loud or anything. that's not just scary... that's terrifying! I was watching it thinking ot myself "I NEVER WANT TO SEE THAT TORTUROUS THING AGAIN!" aye, exactly! we don't have to dwell on it though... :eyeroll: I know! There is/was SO much more to Caspian than just how hot he was... *sigh* 9 is still pretty young to be screaming about how hot a guy is. ;) trust me, when I was nine that was the last thing on my mind. :P I was too busy playing with my brother and my cousins and such... hot guys never really crossed my mind.

of course I will! :P yeah, they're pretty close, I guess. I'll just send a PM with them in it if you'd like. ;) yeah it is nice to have someone to gush about it too. Even if I'm probably more obsessed than she is. But she's not judgmental at all. She understands which is awesome.
hmmm, there is a difference in the price though. ;) just because our money is worth more than yours. so there is still a difference... :P maybe you are right that it's not a whole lot, but I would say it has to be at least a few dollars. Ooo, you could move next door too! :-D it's not weird... it's cool. :teehee:
are you sure he can't here you? That's what Lucy thought too. ;)

Petra, ditto that! I'm still completely in love with PC! :-D

lol, well, I must say that scene was really great! "I'm older and I'm not sure I WANT to understand." Classic! Of course pretty much anything Edmund said I adored. ;) "As appose to hundreds of years later... when you're younger." :teehee:

I just saw it again, with my mom.

LOL one of the (small) things I noticed this time around was, during the battle, the camera zooms in on Edmund who is riding a horse and shooting Telmarines with a crossbow. I was like, he stole a crossbow! Haha

Behind us in the theatre were some younger kids (probably 10 and younger), and they kept "commenting" on various parts of the movie. Like when Aslan wakes up the trees, and then the tree sends out its roots and takes down the catapult- the kids were all like, awesome, etc! That was a hells yeah/pwnage part.

Also, when Susan and Caspian kissed, those kids were all, disgusting! Eww! My mom and I were laughing at them. Way to be mature, kiddies! :p

I so can't wait for the DVD.

How is that not mature? It's perfectly normal and I would venture mature, relative to the age of a ten year old, to think it's mushy and disgusting when people kiss.

I thought the crossbow Edmund had was neat. OVerall it seemed to me that this film was a little more violent, or maybe it was just more pronounced than the last one...someone gets his head cut off and you see his helmet roll...that minotaur holding up the door! My young friend, who clutched my hand for most of the movie, could hardly bear that one.
I thought it was tastefully done, however.

PetraKenobi - I loved that Lucy/Edmund line too!

Eäryendë - It is pretty! :)
About the kids and kissing... Well, I'd much rather have them be grossed out then excailming "He's so hot". :teehee: It seems more natural.

PD, I suppose. But you can't call them dumb. ;)

Yeah, it's kind of hard not to. But, at least we weren't screaming right? :P Okay, you're right. It was terrifying! :hide: I know... That's got to be worse then HM or HSM. And that's saying a lot. ;) Nope, we don't! :eyeroll: It is... :erm: I know! When I was 9... Well, I was like who Earyende was describing. Kissing was gross. ;) I don't think I started thinking about attractivness in guys til this year. But, I was always weird like that. ;)

Yay! I can't wait! Thank you! She sounds really nice, PD. you are lucky. :)
Yep, becuase my theaters evil. :eyroll: Oh, shut up! ;) You're money's not worth more then ours! What about your crashing economy? (lol, that's probably the first time I got fiercly patriotic for my own country :teehee: You bring out thw worst in people, PD. ;) jk) What would have to be at least a few dollars? lol, that would be awesome! :D
Pretty sure. ;) I'll just have to get myself to Narnia...

 Indeed!

(btw, those who are shocked at me for not reading Narnia yet: I started on it. And it's much easier reading than LotR.)

W00t for seeing it again! :bounce: (not that I have... ;))

I noticed Ed with the crossbow the second time I saw it too! :teehee: that was just great... there were several other cool things I noticed but I've forgotten them all now.

but you kinda expect that this one is going to be more violent, Nie... :erm: jsut by what I saw from the trailer I figured it would. But I suppose it also depends on how much violence you're used to in movies. Also you are right. It was tastefully done.

TT, no, but I can call them annoying and several other derogatory things... ;)

YES! That's just rude and... I dunno, pointless to scream it out right in public. :eyeroll: oh well... lol, it was! :P Hopefully you didn't have to see it when you went to see Indy 4. It is SO worse than HM and HSM... as hard as that is to say. But really at least those have slightly decent plots and such. It's not just a bunch of dogs running around and singing. :hind: lol, and that is saying a lot, you're right. :P Same here. Down to a T it was exactly the same with me. Nah, that's not weird... I was about your age if not a tad older before I started thinking about the attractiveness of guys. Before that they were just other boys... you just played with them and did whatever. There was nothing else to it. :P

it's no problem at all, dear! awww, thanks... yeah, I am lucky.
you're telling me to shut up? You know, you can never say I'm more evil than you again! ;) you theaters might be evil but I don't think they'd be THAT evil! Poor TT! our crashing economy does nothing but raise gas prices. although in truth they're getting out of control... we're up to $4 or more dollars per gallon now! and they wonder why I don't want to drive! lol (yeah, that's my job... :innocent:) and actually I noticed our little downtown theater still has PC playing.... I wonder if I would be able to drag anyone down there this week... :innocent: even if that's not my theater of choice. At ALL!

Ooo, I want to go with you! :bounce:

btw, Eary, glad to hear you've finally started reading Narnia!

also I finally found a PC poster today! :bounce: I found it at K-Mart! :-D and, of course, I snatched it up right away!

Well a group of my friends and I went to see Prince Caspian over the weekend....

...and it was awesome!!!!!!

It's just too big to describe, (and there's enough reviews on here! :-p) But Caspian was def my fav character, Reep was the cutest, Edmund and Trumpkin had the funniest lines, and I related to Peter the most. The music was to melt for, and the scenery made you want to travel the world and find all those places...
PD, would you mind PMing me those quotes you got too?
*a wave of scenes from the movie rushes into my brain and I day dream for an eternity*

I loved this movie. I am considering to go and see it again. It was really brilliant!
I loved how hot Skander and William are now, they all grew up so much!! I actually loved the romance between Prince Caspian and Susan, even if it was like a minute in the end, but still it was really cute (a movie can't be good with out romance...lol)
I thought that it seemed...darker...idk... than the last film, which i liked! I liked how Peter was defensive and that he resented leaving. (with all his hotness...it made the movie better).
I think i will go see it again, i've already listened to the soundtrack a million times.

*SQUEE!* I saw Prince Caspian again! :D :D :D It's just as good the 2nd time as it is the 1st time. *sigh* Prince Caspian is amazing... So is Edmund... And Lucy is just plain adorable. Aslan is... Well, he's Aslan. ;)

I want to go see it again!!! Can't wait until the DVD comes out - then I'll be able to watch the awesomeness over and over and over and over...

Spoilerific Review

Okay, so being not a purist, and not really a huge fan of the Narnia series as others are (I still appreciate the books though), I thought the film was excellent, and one of the best movies I've seen in a while. I don't follow Prince Caspian news or Narnia news in general, but I really enjoyed the movies and I really can't wait to see Dawn Treader since they're not afraid to get dark (although from my memory of Dawn Treader, I don't remember if it has the possibility of getting quite as dark as Caspian).

The thing that made the most impression on me was how the characters have grown and how the cast, in turn, have grown.

It's funny that in LWW, Edmund was the depressed one, while Peter is struggling with his adolescence in PC.

Susan has always been my favorite character, though, of the series and I'd be lying if I said that her absence in 75% of the books didn't affect my liking them. She's always been the logical one, the reasonable one, and always had to be mature, especially when Peter wasn't being so. And being in the time of the world wars (which war was it?), I sympathize with her situation.

The character moments: Superb. And really, it's what topped the movie off for me. It was the intermittent character moments that just made it Narnia for me. Sure, it was dark. Sure, there was killing and all that. Sure, there were some really tense moments like the White Witch and the bedroom scene with ambushing Miraz. But it was the character moments that completely made that movie a Narnia film.

Edmund: "Hey, this is from my chess set!"
Peter: "Which one?"
Edmund: "Well, I didn't exactly have a solid gold chess set in Finchley, did I?"

Miraz: "Prince Edmu---"
Edmund: "It's King, actually. It's King Edmund. Just King though. Peter's High King. It's sort of confusing."

Edmund: "[after destroying the White Witch] ... I know. You had it all sorted."

Huh. There's a recurring theme here, Edmund! :p I adore his character and he's come to be a second favorite behind Susan, purely because of the films.

The Prince Caspian / Susan (or... Suspian as you guys call it):
I honestly didn't mind it. And if I may, I should say that I actually like it---merely because it gave more reason for Susan to turn her back on Narnia. And it showed more of Susan's character during her reign----she was supposed to be the heartthrob all of Narnia and outside of it, no? And this was a way to show that Susan is a truly beautiful woman and of all the stories that Caspian as heard of her, it's not unlikely that he'd idolized her, have her on this pedestal, and let's admit it: have a huge teenage crush on her.

The other reason why I liked it was because it's really truly innocent, it's never meant to escalate and it could never have gone anywhere seeing as though it's canon that Susan never returns to Narnia (by the Last Battle anyways; there was always an opening to imply that she may returned later, once she's all "had it sorted") and Prince Caspian grows older and marries Ramandu's daughter (who goes unnamed?).

Personally, I never liked CS Lewis's method of writing romance or... lack thereof. It was always a clear cut: "They grew up, got married, had kids, lived happily ever after." None of the whole feelings to falling in love. And I just liked that they incorporated the possibility of a couple that didn't work out for obvious reasons, which was what Susan and Caspian represented.

And really, the only true couples in the books were Cor and Avaris and Caspian and Ramandu. One being from a book whose movie will probably be put off for a later date while the "Pevensies" are still young. And the other being in the next film. They needed some sort of romance for the older members of the audience. And Susan and Caspian did nicely for us hopeless romantics.

My only complaint was that there's no way that grass and soil could be held up by stone pillars.
It's dreadfully unrealistic, but seeing as though there are talking animals: I'll get over it. :p

Okay, my only other complaint is: TOO LITTLE ASLAN. I wanted more tension or something or other with he and Peter and Susan. Just to show the relationship between the three to show some inkling of foreshadow as to why Peter was able to return but not Susan.

Ahhh, thank you! Susan has always been my favorite character too and it's not often someone else feels the same way. :) I sympathize with her role as the worrier who tries to be practical. Plus she's the older sister. :teehee: You're completely right about the maturity thing, too. Honestly--someone has to be reasonable every so often. The way she is treated in the series really drew me away from them for a while...

*ahem*

I saw the movie...ehh, about a week ago, and I thought it was done very well. I didn't like it as much as LWW, of course, simply because that story is so great, but they did a really good job of making a rather uncinematic book into a very well-done movie. I love the opening scene, how the credits started to roll as Caspian ran away. Perfect place to start the movie, with the action and setting up basically the major plotline.
Suspian was not as horrible as it could have been. Susan and Lucy's "you might need to CALL me again?" exchange was cute, although I admit: I began to laugh when Caspian oh-so-conveniently rode in to save her. Honestly.
And I LOVED watching Peter and Caspian fight when they first met! That was great. :) Overall, though, I believe I still like Peter more than Caspian. ;) I was expecting to have my attention mostly alternating between the two of them, but actually...
I REALLY liked Edmund in this film. I mean, Edmund always been my other favorite Pevensie, after he matures from LWW. I loved how he stabbed the white witch. Practically poetic. He was just very funny, and sensible, really. :) Yay Edmund!
(I still loves Peter though. :eyeroll: )

I also would have liked to see more Aslan, and I was very sad we never saw Caspian and Cornelius on the tower, but oh well...I understand completely why that scene didn't work.
