WALL - E
YAY!
*wubs*
I did my IB project on Wall-E and Brave New World, so I'd thought I'd celebrate it by actually watching it.

australia.
i'm probably going to get booed, but i hated it. the film tried to be to be too many things (love story/family saga/action film/war epic/exposition piece about the apalling treatment of aborigines/advert for australia) but failed to be any of them convincingly and ended up feeling disjointed and incoherent; the representation of aussies, aborigines and brits alike was stereotyped and ridiculous; baz obviously copped out with the ending and compromised with the producers, thus compromising his artistic integrity; there was no need to not give the drover a name - that was just pretentious; any humour there was in the film felt painfully forced; using the oh-no-they're-dead-but-hang-on-a-minute-no-they're-not plot twist twice shows a distinct lack of imagination; and nicole kidman still can not act. they billed this as the australian gone with the wind but there is simply no comparison - gone with the wind wins hands down. the only two good things about the film were brandon walters (a very natural and charming presence) and david wenham (a highly underrated and underappreciated actor who deserves more than playing second banana to hugh jackman).

Hmm what a review...
I just watched Raising Helen and it was a lot better than I expected... It had me shedding a tear and chuckle out loud.. so isn't that a sign of a good, over-average movie?
Best quote:

- Yes, sort of Prada green, not their best collection. Put it away now.
Well.. you probably needed to be there... gosh, I love Helen Mirren!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Special Extended Edition
*sighs* It's so amazing... I cried most of the way through. It will forever pwn any movie that comes along, not with just sheer awesomeness, but with how amazing everything is, and how it all works perfectly, and it's just one of the best movies on the face of the planet. I remember why the hell I love this series so much...

Religulous
I really liked it but I somewhat doubt most of the people here would enjoy it. The bias is screaming out. Nor does the images of religious terrorism and violence really help. But hey...a bit more accurate than Ben Stein's Expelled. At least, that's what I thought.

From Russia With Love
Not quite as much to laugh at this time. xD
And my dad felt the need to do his own narration.
