I agree with you there! I think Noah is my second favorite character after Ivy, although Lucius is at a close third. I love his nose too- I'm glad I'm not the only one! lol

JF: OH! I see---you were trying to say that if Finton and Christop stuck it out with her until the road, if they would've questioned the chimes. Gotcha. =D
I think Elenya has a fetish for noses.
[needs to download the soundtrack ]

Yep, that was what I was trying to say... I've noticed when I make long posts, I tend to confuse people.... XD ... shorter posts rock....
Which makes me again wonder if the Elders knew they wouldn't go that far with her... because if they did... they would have seen the chimes.... the Elders are very wise. They have organized the village and kept the stories of the creatures alive by using various different methods. I don't think it is entirely impossible that they picked the two people who are least likely to complete their task.

Well, since we didn't see the chimes in the film, I think Shyamalan axed the thought that the Elders would put up chimes...

I just watched it now, and said he was disappointed that they weren't put into the film, as he really liked the scene, and the fact that after that climatic fight, something else happened, but then he thought having that scene right there, was probably too much to have happen at that time, so it was cut out.

Yeah, that scene would not have worked and glad he decided to cut it, as were the other deleted scenes.

It would have been nice to see a little bit more of the Elders ingenuity though. Because without that scene we would have no idea how they created the noises.

... They... never created the noises... They relied on the noises of the cars patrolling the preserve.... because the groans of the trees that the villages heard sounded NOTHING like those chimes which were alot more high-pitch.

Really? Ya think so? Would the sounds of the cars have travelled that far? And would they sound like they did?

It's certainly possible----forests tend to carry the oddest sounds especially if it's the right pitch. I don't feel like the chimes would have created a consistent menacing sound enough... unless they had a way to alter the sounds .... somehow, I don't know. But that's what I believe, the patrol cars and any vehicles going around at the time.

Yes, I suppose do have a nose fetish. rotfl!
You must download the soundtrack, Kitoky! I love the music- it's beautiful! My favorite tracks- Noah Visits, Those We Don't Speak Of, The Gravel Road, What are you Asking Me, and Race to Resting Rock. When I'm writing romanic bits in my stories I like to listen to What are you Asking Me over and over- it's my inspiration. lol

So deep in the forest, though? Hmm, I can't imagine them traveling so far away from the village... But your thought of different types of instruments is interesting. Maybe they had some sort of hidden stash under a tree that had all these wooden instruments or grating sound-makers that some of them would play... though---we hear most of the sounds in the woods when they're all together so... maybe not? =/

There could be more pipes throughout the forest, some closer to the village. The Elders could have also designed some to make different noises. That could help the illusion- it would sound like there are several creatures with different "voices," and they're moving through the forest.

Elenya: rofl, Adrien Brody's nose is so interesting. Unique. He reminds me of someone who would be excellent at playing Sherlock Holmes. Heh.
I also love the soundtrack muchly. I just got the piano music to The Gravel Road ...*goes into happy squeeing ecstasies*....
