Ooh, kind of a tough question, . I can't choose just one, so here are all my favorites:
The Lion King (whoever said that it was basically Shakespeare's Hamlet, only happier and not with the, ahem, "incest" element, I agree wholeheartedly )- One of my top ten, definitely. There was a period where I'd do drawings of it, mostly from the very end into the realm of fanart "what-ifs". I did a whole series of "next generation" drawings, with Kiara (Simba's daughter, for those who never saw the sequel) & Kovu's cub(s), and their cub(s). I think the last one I did was both generations' cubs as adults. A few years ago, I actually saw the musical of this. Very cool . If it's ever presented on a stage near any of you, you should definitely see it, if possible .
Beauty and The Beast- Another one in my top ten. My Christmas (or was it birthday and Christmas ? I don't remember.) wish after I saw this was to get the dolls of Belle and the Beast (the Barbie-like ones, that is, though I think I may have gotten a stuffed animal of the Beast as a present, as well). I think I got the Beast first, and Belle after that. This is also one of the few Disney movies I own the soundtrack of.
Lady and The Tramp- Not quite in the top ten, but still pretty high up in the list . I loved all the characters in this (except for the nasty nanny, that is ) . My favorite scene: when the two of them are sharing the plate of spaghetti. Very sweet, and kind of romantic, in a weird way .
Bambi- This also goes in my top ten, in spite of the fact that we got the saddening death of a parent, like in The Lion King. It was just a great story all around .
Robin Hood- This one's also in my top ten, just because it was so much fun . My favorite scenes in it:
1. Prince John's little tantrum in his carriage ("Mummy!" **proceeds to suck his thumb childishly**)
2. Robin & Marian's romantic walk in the woods. *Sighs happily*
3. The archery competition
4. The vulture guards' ("___ o'clock and all's well!") loud, constant announcement of the hour when the Sheriff is trying to sleep, and his increasingly annoyed orders for them to shut up, .
Aladdin- Three words: Robin Williams' Genie . Aladdin's monkey Abu was a hoot, too, and, of course, Aladdin was a very appealing "street rat" . Again, not in the top ten, but you can't deny that carpet ride while Aladdin was trying to escape from the cavern Jafar trapped him in was a mind-blowing example of CG animation at the time .
The Jungle Book- Again, not in my top ten, but it definitely had one of the most enjoyable soundtracks of any Disney movie, and it was really a lot of fun to watch .
The Fox and The Hound- Just a really great little story . This is one of those that my parents and I don't own, on DVD or VHS, which really bugs me .
Oliver and Company- Confession about this one: I still have neither seen nor read its source material . I love this one because it has such a singable soundtrack. My favorite characters would have to be Billy Joel's Dodger and Cheech Marin's Chihuahah (his name completely escapes me)- the former because he's just so darn cool, and the latter because he's just, . This is another one that the fact that we don't own it really, really ticks me off .
In terms of the various sequels and prequels, I've seen none of the latter and only a few of the former.
Sequels I've seen:
1. The Lion King II: Simba's Pride- One of the most well-done, IMO (though I guess I can't technically judge, for the reason I said above). It also borrowed from Shakespeare, in this case, Romeo & Juliet (without, of course the death of the animal counterparts of said characters). I thought the story was very good. Of course, its source material is one of the greatest works in the history of writing, so that's probably why .
2. The Return of Jafar- This was pretty good, I thought. My liking of it might have to do with the fact that Iago (who, despite the fact that Gilbert Gottfried provided the voice, I sort of liked) redeemed himself, and Jafar was finally defeated permanently, but I don't know.
3. Aladdin and The King of Thieves- I think I may have missed a bit, but I'm pretty sure I saw the majority of it. This one wasn't too bad, I didn't think. If anything, it was good to see that Aladdin and Jasmine finally got married, and it was interesting to find out just what happened to Aladdin's father, and why he ended up an orphan. Hmmm..., you know what, my somewhat foggy recall of the plots of the original and these two sequels sort of reminds me of a certain other Disney trilogy. Anybody wanna guess what I'm referring to (it's probably unbelievably easy, but maybe not ;D) ? The POTC trilogy
Favorite Songs (in no particular order)
1. "Beauty and The Beast", Beauty and The Beast- I find both versions of this (the one sung by the characters and the one sung by actual recording artists) absolutely beautiful.
2. "Something There", Beauty and The Beast- This was just a great little "falling in love for the first time" song .
3. "Bella Notte", Lady and The Tramp- I like this one so much it's actually on my iPod !
4. "He's A Tramp", Lady and The Tramp- I like the old vintage 1920's, 1940's "big band", "lounge" style of this, and it's also on my iPod .
5. "So This Is Love", Cinderella- I find this rather romantic, and it also occupies a place on my iPod.
6. "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes", Cinderella- Another one on my iPod, this is just really uplifting .
7. "Why Should I Worry?", Oliver and Company- Billy Joel sings it (and thus, it's one of many of his songs on my iPod), 'nuff said .
8. "Colors of The Wind", Pocahontas- This is the one Vanessa Williams sings, rather than the movie version. What I love most about it is the lyrics; they're just beautiful, a poem, almost . Yet another on my iPod.
9. "Part of Your World", The Little Mermaid- This one is great because it conveys the conflict Ariel is struggling with really well.
10. "Kiss The Girl", The Little Mermaid- Just really romantic, and I absolutely love Samuel E. Wright's (the voice of Sebastian) voice ! Another mainstay on my iPod.
11. "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?", The Lion King- Elton John's version, not the movie one. Because, well, I love Elton John .
12. "Circle of Life", The Lion King- Again, Elton John's version, but both his and the movie's version are very good .
13. "He Lives In You", The Lion King II/ the Broadway musical version of The Lion King- Wonderfully written, both lyrically and musically. This one's on my iPod, too.
14. "The Bare (or is it "Bear", ?) Necessities", The Jungle Book- Just a lot of fun to sing along with .
15. "I Wanna Be Like You", The Jungle Book- A favorite for the same reason as the song above .

Yes, how did I forget about Oliver and Company? I love the songs in that movie so much, and Tito is awesome. And the story is so touching...
So last night I was sleeping over at my friend's house, and we decided to watch Beauty and the Best. I [s]want[/s] NEED the soundtrack.
...And we named the beast Frederic.

Now THAT'S a critic xD
And before I leave: Cinderella is the best princess ever. But the real one, not the weird yellow blonde haired blue dressed one of merchandising. Just because she ''falls in love at first sight'' doesn't mean she's stupid. Or because she works for her stepfamily she's passive and a damsel in distress (she was never rescued by the prince, she rescued herself!). She's a well rounded character, with a personality.

<3 Aladdin
My favorite Disney movie. Ever.
I love and can sing all the songs from Beauty and the Beast, I find myself singing the song "Belle" quite frequently....I love it. It scares a few people I know! xD Oh well...
Someone mentioned Shang from Mulan.... he is dead sexy. Can we share him? Oh and err...I love that movie too!
Man, I need to watch all these Disney movies again

FaeEowynTonks- , yeah I know, horribly long post (probably one of the longest I've ever made ) ! In terms of the "princess" and not-quite-princess movies, I'd say Belle is my favorite. Though she does want to get married and have her own family, she still has quite an independent streak to her. I mean, of all the princesses, who would scold the Beast the way Belle did? Not many, I'd wager, 'cause he can be very big and scary if you tick him off enough !
Esteleth- Ooh, good name ! I wonder why he was never given one in the screenplay . About Oliver and Company- Yes, that's it, thanks !
A point I didn't make in my original post because, well, it was way too long already, - There's something about the CGI movies (e.g. Cars, Finding Nemo, the Toy Story series, etc.) that, for me, makes them less, I don't know, special, than the original 2-D ones. Don't get me wrong, the stories are great, for example, I loved Finding Nemo, own it, actually, but with the exception of that one and the Toy Story movies, they don't make me ooh and ahh like the 2-D animation ones did .

I have to say, that I love Disney animated films and Disney computer animated films just as much as each other, and for the record, so far Disney has scored top marks for the computer animated films, whereas some of the 2-D ones have really let the side down.
The stories for the Disney/Pixar films are pretty much the best stories there have ever been. They are original, unique and have pretty much outstripped 2-D stories for a long time now.
I'm not one who likes to hear people say a film being made in 3-D for that point alone, makes it any less worthier than a 2-D film, and I disbelieve all the people who hate 3-D and say the reason is because it comes from a computer and not a piece of paper. You have to be a real Disney purist not to award cookies to any of the Disney/Pixar movies.
Monstes Inc, Ratatouille, Toy Story and Cars walk hand in hand with Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Cinderalla and Robin Hood in my opinion.

Good point about the stories, JF . All of them have been original, whereas the 2-D stories were based chiefly on source material, either some incarnation of the "happily ever after" princess fairy tale or some older work of literature. The only truly original stories in the 2-D movies were Bambi, Lady & the Tramp, The Fox & The Hound, the Rescuers series, and probably several others that I don't recall or never saw.
It's hard to describe just why I prefer the 2-D movies over the 3-D CGI ones. Just really fond memories about the older ones, maybe? Or perhaps because of all the Pixar films, the only ones I've seen are Toy Story & its sequel, The Incredibles (I think that was Disney/Pixar), and Finding Nemo (though I would like to see Ratatouille one of these days ), I'm not sure .

Actually, if they had been in the same situation, I'm sure they would end up liking Beast. Just because they fall in love at first sight with pretty guy doesn't mean they're inferior to Belle (besides, it wasn't Disney's idea of them going with the handsome) If you remember Cinderella, she loved him for who he was. Not because he was the prince. She didn't even know it was the prince she was dancing with! lol

Johnny's Fan- Really? I thought Finding Nemo was quite well done. Granted, the characters didn't look as realistic as they could have been, but the visuals themselves (e.g. the coral reef, the water, the waves, etc.) looked pretty good, IMO. Yeah, The Incredibles wasn't quite my cup of tea, either, but it was pretty funny, you can't deny that .
As soon as I can get my hands on a copy of Ratatouille, I'll be sure to watch it . I'll check out the other two sometime as well, but the aforementioned is higher up on my "must-see" list .
Ah yes, I forgot about Dumbo . It was good to see that Disney could come up with some original material, I agree .
FaeEowynTonks- Oh, I'm sure they would. What I'm saying is I can't think of any others (except for maybe Jasmine and Ariel) who would be gutsy enough to confront him the way Belle did while she was dressing the wound on his arm, or would refuse to come to dinner when ordered, like she did at the beginning of the movie. I mean, even his servants, who knew him better than anyone, got nervous when he became angry. Until Belle "soothed the savage beast", as the saying goes, just about all of them walked on eggshells.

I love disney movies!
Lets see.... Lion King (The first), Little mermaid, Lady & the Tramp, 101 Dalmations, Beauty and the beast, Aladdin, Fox & the Hound, Snow White(I love the songs, and the prince & the dwarves rock, but snow white doesn't have singing talent), Hunckbackof Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan(1st one), Mary Poppins(practically perfect in every way)
I love pretty much every disney song...I can't name them all!
