@ Ara Again (maybe we need a new thread xD lol) I don't think I can pick a fav, I think I like the story of CotBP the best becuase its more piratey and beleivable, though I don't find it as rewatchable as the other 2 because it always seems the same where as with DMC and AWE I find myself noticing much more little things or seeing a different take on certain lines or characters.

I never really liked Elizabeth becuase when I saw the first one I was a horrible fangirl and like "OMG Orlando can't love her" xD Watching it again though she's much more palettable, I still don't like her much more becuase I find Kiera so samey in everything she's in, elizabeth swann is no different to her elizabeth bennet and most other roles I've seen her in. Still after watching CotBP without fangirl goggles I do like the way she's fallible, she thinks she's trying to the right thing or be clever, but she's just a silly girl and makes massive mistakes. DMC and AWE did pretty much erase any of that which is a shame. I didn't have so much of a problem with the kissing everyone (the bit with Norrington in AWE is probably one of my favourite bits of the whole film), but the sword fighting and the cockiness without making mistakes were just annoying. It also really really bugged me that throughout AWE I thought she looked more and more like a boy, and becuase she was so masculine by the end it didn't seem like she was special any more....

oookay onto last film I watched
District 9... Wow just wow .....Brilliant, I also appreciated the mini cameo by Jed Brophy lol

@ the whole pirate conversation - My thoughts. Will and Elizabeth are gone = good riddance. Norrington was murdered by a walking piece of plankton who was later hailed as a good guy and no one ever mentioned his death again = so bad on so many levels it's impossible for me to describe it calmy and somewhat sanely.

Bad, bad writing.

How To Train Your Dragon

SO ADORABLE! I think Dreamworks has finally hit their stride, this, hopefully, will be a good contender for Best Animated Film at the next Oscars, it was done to perfection. Watch out Pixar.

Spy Game
Awesome acting by both Robert Redford and Brad Pitt. Very much liked the story. :)

The Ghost Writer - which happens to also known as Roman Polanski's The Ghost Writer... when I wanted to book tickets for the movie I found it under neither G for Ghost Writer or under the translated title... but under R for Roman Polanski.. hmmm

Continuing the whole Pirate discussion - I so agree about Norrington, I really liked him and his death was most painful of all the PotC deaths D:. Bootstrap (despite Stellan being a pretty great actor) was indeed and overrated and pretty pointless character, all he did was make Will more Emo D:

Ever After: A Cinderella Story fairly good, really predictable and twee though
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Good enough, the songs are cool :)
The Mask Of Zorro Ok so its still on atm but its still great :D

The Women - It was so bad and silly and ridiculously boring I'm afraid I lost brain cells while watching it...

@Anyone involved in the previous PotC Conversation: I do believe we should take this back to the OST thread :teehee: WE HAVE COMANDEERED THE THREAD!! HUZZAH~! :pirate: Lembas, you're definitely right about CotBP - it's a great tale but there isn't much depth compared to the other films, methinks. Don't get me wrong, I still love the movie, but I can hardly sit through it anymore (perhaps it's because I watched it to death for the three years before DMC came out :P ) After the point where Gov. Swann helps Elizabeth to escape the prison cell in DMC, Elizabeth's character was beyond saving. I loved her up until that point, and then it was when she started cross dressing and trying to be just as good as the boys that I thought they'd completely destroyed her character. I mean, if you compare the Elizabeth in CotBP to the one in DMC, they seem like much different characters. And I suppose the same could be said for Will in a way; he seemed so out of character to me after CotBP... :erm: It's so weird that usually I'm all for women standing up and proving their worth, but the way Elizabeth went about it was just completely wrong, which I guess we can blame on T&T for the way they wrote her character from the transition from first to second film.

But I must agree with Goatcloset in a way; maybe things will be better without Will and Elizabeth in OST, because their whole story was really getting stale... I just hope they don't screw up Penelope Cruz's character and then this whole mess starts all over again. :frust:

And yes, I admit that I almost cried at Norrington's death, but didn't come close to crying at Will's (maybe it was because I'd heard that spoiler before, but IDK, it just didn't seem as sudden or as powerful as Norrie's... I kinda would've expected Will's even if I hadn't heard what happened beforehand) ;-)

What I watched:
Scotland, Pa
As a set up for MacBeth which we're doing now in English.. Gah I have an utter hatred for Shakespeare :frust:

Die Fälscher [The Counterfeiters] - not too fond of WWII movies or German language movies in general, but this one was alright. :-)
