What is the greatest performance by an actor/actress you have ever seen, whether it be on film, the television, or the stage?
I even have to think about this one...

This is got to be one of the most complicated questions EVER!
After lots of debating different films, I may have to say:
Jodie Foster in Contact

After a lot of thinking, I have to say:
Ellen Burstyn in Requiem For A Dream. Altough all the performances in that movie were great, hers was the best. She shows every type of emotion, and really should have won an oscar that year. It's disgraceful that she didn't.

Liam Neeson-- Les Miserables.
The Whole Cast--West Side Story..
Meh. I'm undecided.

This is a really good topic! But hard...
I can think of one now and that's Keira Knightley in Princess of Thieves from 2001. She is about 15 and she does a wonderful job!!

wow, I have several best performances; let me start with Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan. He really loves the "Greatest Generation" and approaches this part with a reverence that is almost palpable. A stunning performance in a very gritty and realistic war drama. - WMW
