Who else loved this movie? I was surprised that there was no advertising for it, considering that it's butting heads with The Prestige (I think I liked this one better).

*Hopes someone else has seen it* :bounce:

I vaguely remember hearing about the Illusionist but I don't remember what it's about.

I really want to see this. Hopefully I'll be able to soon. I might just have to wait until it's out on dvd though.

Someone see it, pwease? Anyone?

Kit, it's about a magician in 1800's Vienna who is in love with a woman way out of his league, and how that causes some interesting things to happen.

That does put me in the mind of the Prestige! Except with a woman involved! Is there romance ? I'm a sucker for romance. :p

Yeah, there is romance, but is doesn't go very well...

Truthfully, all is shares with The Prestige is that the main character is a magician and there is an uber cool plot twist.

Did I just use "uber?" :confused2:

Why, yes timx4. You did.

I'll be sure to check it out then. Any big name actors?

I thought so.

The only person I've ever heard of is Paul Giamatti (He starred in Lady in the Water), but my mother was gushing about Edward Norton (The magician). His love interest is Jessica Biel. I kind of liked the lack of really famous actors. It made it more believable.

Mmm...I really want to see this movie. I've heard about it for quite some time. And it's no longer playing at the theatre it was playing at...so I'm not sure if I'll have to wait for it on DVD. *sigh* Oh well. So, Paul Giamatti is in it? That's exciting! I'm a fan of his...and of course Edward Norton's. :) Yay!

Omg. YAY! Paul Giamatti! The Jessica Biel factor is a turn-off but we'll see if it's worth it.

I saw this movie a few days ago and absolutely loved it! What a pleasant surprise. The cinematography was beautiful and the colors were gorgeous. Superb acting, suspenseful and interesting plot and a great twist to the ending :)

Thumbs up for the Illusionist!
