I cannot believe no one has started a thread for this movie. I absolutely love it, one of my favorite movies of all time. I just saw it for the second time, and I hope it wins the Oscar (though I doubt it will).

You can see the trailer here:

I just watched it the other day, and I absolutely loved it. :) There's a part of me that can actually relate to the characters in the movie.

Oh! I LOVE this movie! In fact I own it! It's such a wonderful movie, I love how you can relate with all the characters because they all have "problems" of one sort or another! However, it does sound sort of ridiculous trying to explain it to people, "Well, they go on this roadtrip...and..." :P I really feel like watching it now! :teehee:

I just watched it for the first time. I LOVE IT. ESPECIALLY Dwayne. He rocked, especially his "Jesus was wrong" shirt.

I was laughing so hard for most of it, especially when they're dumping the grandfather out of the window and when the cop pulled them over.

"Everyone, just... pretend to be normal."

"Is he here? Where's your grandpa right now?"
"In the trunk of our car"

^ACK! You stole my banner idea! *Pouts*

I wasn't planning on watching the movie, but my friends were. Within five minutes the computer was off and I was watching. Mostly because I am waaaaaaay too much like Dwayne.

SUPER FREAK! Yay! I have to say that hers was way less disturbing then the other girls though. Beauty pageants scare me.

Oh yeah. I love the ice cream part.

"So, if you sleep until you're 18... Ah, think of the suffering you're gonna miss. I mean high school? High school... those are your prime suffering years. You don't get better suffering than that."
^Tell me about it.

I wasn't going to watch the movie either, but my family said that I had to. And, yeah... my family's sorta like that.

The dad is frighteningly similar to my dad. I'm pretty certain that my dad has one of the shirts he was wearing.

Best movie your family has ever forced you to watch?

If that's your dad I pity you. A lot.

Dwayne = me and I = Dwayne. Down to the color blindness. It's scary.

Who else thinks it deserves best picture at the oscars? All of the other films (except for Babel) were pretty bad.

Yeah... my dad is kindov like that. Except he usually doesn't give inspirational speeches. I have my dance school's founder for that. :P

I don't think I've seen any of the other Oscar films...

Ah. The inspirational speeches are what would make it unbearable. *Shudders*

You're not missing much, really. The only really good films besides LMS that are nominated for anything are Pan's Labyrinth and Children of Men.

I'm a little sad that Paul Dano didn't win "Best Supporting Male." He was awesome.

Now we need Best Picture at the Oscars! *Crosses fingers*
