Just wondering if anyone has seen the new version of Jane Eyre with Michal Fassbander and Mia W. (Alice in Wonderland)? I saw it last night and I loved it, though I'm still trying to get used to the ending.

I've read the book, and this looked like a really good adaptation, but I don't think it ever came to my city. I think it's coming out on DVD soon; I'll have to rent it soon!

Very accurate, though they moved some stuff around and ommited some of the characters.

I enjoyed it for the most part, but some of it disappointed me. Jane longs her entire life to be part of a family, but they chose to cut out the part where St John and his sisters are her cousins? I guess I just don't see why they had to cut that out. And I wish they'd ended it just a bit happier... Still a good movie though.

I really liked this film, loved it right when I first watched it on a plane I'm so glad though, that they cut out the scene where the little girl (forgot her name) comes into Jane's room at night and screams, that scared the hell out of me :S But the rest of the film was great!

I have been wanting to see the film for a while now, I remember it kinda crept into the cinemas when it came out, and then disappeared pretty quickly. I bought the DVD the other day and I am looking forward to seeing it. I have so far liked all version of Jane Eyre, so I expect to like this one as well. Sure, they all miss out something, but on the whole, the adaptations are usually quite good.

I just found it awkward. From the beginning to the end. I really didn't think Mia fit in the role at all, and I was very disappointed.

Mia was perfect; why did not you like her? I didn't think she did Jane justice at all. I thought her acting was flat and unemotional.

I thought she was just sad. Indeed I love the old versions of Jane Eyre (I am a Mia's fan.)...
