Anyone else excited to see this film? ![]() Any film about Abraham Lincoln and set before and during the American Civil War, was always going to be worth watching in my opinion, but the idea that ol' Abe is a vampire hunter.... awesome. I saw the trailer yesterday and I think it looks amazing, I'm more excited to watch this than The Hobbit! ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZp7eBStN1U |

^ Yes it was. ![]() I'm glad others are looking forward to it as well, I'm excited to see this in the cinema (and I don't really like the cimena experience). |

Haven't read the book, although I do intend to, and I can't wait to see the movie either. |

I was excited when I heard they were making a movie based on such an amazing book. I just hope they don't ruin it, as oft happens in book-to-movie adaptations. ![]() |

Not sure if this it showing the UK yet, but I saw it in the U.S. before I left, and thought it was awful. American audiences seem to be more tolerant of over-the-top movies and ridiculous humour than British audiences, but everyone in the cinema seemed to find it just as horrible as I did. Don't get me wrong, there were some well done parts. I enjoyed the first hour, but the rest was just well, awful. It was over-the-top special effects, makeup, and scripting. Actually, the script had to be the worst part. At one point I leaned over to my friend and said of the graphics that it "looks like I'm watching a badly made video game". I was very, very disappointed. I feel it could have been done so much better. Is the book very "over-the-top"? I haven't actually read it. |

I have the book on my reading list; I aim to finish it before watching the film. |

I went to go see the movie with my boyfriend when he came to see me in July. I liked it, he didn't like it too much though. |

I finally saw this a few weeks ago, after missing out on seeing it in the cinema. I thought it was brilliant, it was just great entertainement. It never pretended to be anything other than just a fun film. I loved the story, the way true historical fact was mixed with fiction, the attention to detail regarding the era and the clothes and the buildings etc, and I thought the cast were all great as well. Rufus Sewell and Marton Csokas were both fantastic - Csokas as Jack Bart stole the show. Maybe I'm easily pleased but I just took it for what it was, a good ol' entertaining film. ![]() |
