I am going to help advertise this seriously underrated movie:

An amazing movie that's coming out very soon (January 13)
is TRISTAN & ISOLDE.

Watch the trailer it looks really great! and makes the plot very clear:

http://www.tristanandisoldemovie.com

The story is about the Arthurian legend of love triangle between the Knight Tristan the Irish Princess Isolde and King/Lord Marke.

Plot synopsis:

This is the epic tale of a pair of doomed lovers from warring nations, Tristan (Franco) of Britain and Isolde (Myles) of Ireland, set during the time soon after the fall of the Roman Empire. Orphaned as a child, Tristan is raised by Lord Marke (Sewell), a friend of his family, and as he matures, Tristan becomes a brave knight who leads successful attacks against the forces of the Irish King Donnchadh (O'Hara). When he is poisoned during one of these battles, however, Tristan is placed upon a funeral boat which eventually washes up on the Irish shores, where it is found by the Irish king's daughter, Isolde, who cures Tristan's ailment, as the two fall in love, unaware of who the other one really is. Tristan eventually returns to Britain, where he learns that the Irish king has offered up his daughter's hand in marriage under the guise of bringing the two countries together (but really hoping to stir up political ire between the various British lords). Tristan eagerly volunteers to be Lord Marke's champion in the competition, and he wins, but his heart is soon crushed when he discovers that the woman he loves, Isolde, is actually the Irish princess whose hand in marriage he just handed to the man who has been his best friend his whole life...

Recommended for the type that like Costume epics in the style of King Arthur. There's plenty of action and tragic romance.

Anyone else looking foward to this movie?

I kind of want to see it (I've wanted to see it forever) but I would like an edited version...

Just out of curiousity why would you want an edited version? As in some elements censored? I'm sure it has no more epic violence than the Lord of the Rings...

It sounds beautiful! i've seen some posters around our movie theaters, much other than that I havn't heard anything about it. I'd like to see it, if its fairly clean.

Well, it's an Arthurian romance, about chivalry and courtly love...it'll be a lot "cleaner" than any serious love story set in this century that's for sure.

The story is one of those famous love triangles like Arthur & Guinevere + Lancelot or Paris & Juliet + Romeo. If you like those kinds of tragic love stories then I think you might enjoy it.

Be warned however,

**SPOILER**

the ending is VERY bawl your eyes out tragic.

I've read a story version of it, and loved it! I'd like to see it, if it's clean enough.

LOL why does every talk about wanting edited versions and if it's "clean" or not? It's a love story so there will be love scenes. In the movie there are two love scenes, but tastefully shot. There's also a lot of action in the epic style of King Arthur. I think it's going to be a great movie but also a box office flop due to the poor publicity and vagueness of the target audience. Young people aren't sure about seeing it because of the sex and violence, but adults might find it too sappy.

I've read the legend before as well and couldn't believe that it was finally made into a movie. The scenery will be breathtaking and the music is wistfully celtic and beautiful. I think it's going to be great!

10 more days to go until the release!

I kinda want to see it... but since it looks like there's a lot of sexual content, I highly doubt my parents would let me see it. : (

yeah I don't get it either when people want clean versions of films, songs or TV shows.. they are what they are, take it or leave it. This movie looks fantastic, and I'll be sure to check it out once it opens over here. I love costume/epic/adventure movies :)

Wow it's so different over here. I mean you can show naked parts in G-rated movies here in Sweden, and nobody has a problem with it. Even on daytime/primetime TV they can show naked people! We grew up with the idea that it's perfectly normal to have sex, which it is. And it's not like we're gonna see the actual intercorse, only the illusion that they're having one.

Yes...I saw the trailer when I saw Pride and Prejudice, and again when I saw King Kong. I want to see it...I mean, it's my kind of movie. Epic battles, but tragic love story...that's me. ^^ Just don't know who to drag along with me to see it...my mom doesn't like battles much, and my guy-movie-going-friend doesn't like love stuff. -_- If all fails...I'll go by myself. :P Unless anyone wants to fly up to BC?

On the "clean" subject...it depends on the movie and the person, is what I say.

I want to see it! Yey! :bounce: looks like a movie that I can...(*grin*)...put on my mental calendar of movie release dates (my old calendar expired with the release of Narnia).

Although personally I can't see James Franco as a knight. He's too Harry Osborne (sp?) and 21st-century-ish.
