OMG!I LOVE foriegn films!!!!!! Okay......no offense to anyone......but American made movies, usually always end with all warm fuzzies, and most of the plots are the same, they all have the Hollywood formula. Okay I'm not saying all American made movies are bad i.e Finding Neverland, Hotel Rwanda, The Aviator...(these are my opinions). So that is why I fell in love with foreign films. Here are some of my all time favourite foreign films.
The Color of Paradise
(Iran)
The story of a father whose wife has died, leaving him with two daughters and a blind son. The father wishes to remarry, but he is ashamed of his blind son, so he struggles with what to do with him.
The Road Home
(China)
The story of a young girl growing up in a Chinese village, when a teacher from the city comes to teach at the school.

Foreign films are pretty cool The only ones I can think of right now that I've seen are Amelie (France) which was bizarre but pretty good, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (China, I think) which was a little unbelievable but fun as a mere action flick. Of course NZ films are always great too

Okay, some foreign movies might be good, but don't try watching Dutch or German movies! Just ... don't! Well, you cannot say I haven't warned you.

The main character in The Road Home actually played in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon too. OOOOOOOOOOOOOO I love French made movies a lot............I just saw one..........what was it called...........OH........The Three Triplets of Belville..........it was really good. Except.....I swear they only said one sentence in the whole movie......and of course it was in French.

Foreign films... like in films that are not American I suppose!!!
Well, I live in Europe so I guess I am able to choose from a greater variety of movies than Americans.
I like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for the amazingly beautiful pictures. Run Lola Run is a German movie, very strange but the style is quite interesting and the story different!! Mmm, what else... I watch a lot of Danish movies (Proud Great Dane!!), most known worldwide must be Dogville and Mandaley by Lars von Trier (I'm going to see mandaley soon).

Anyway here are some of my favourites:
Les Choristes
Amelie
A Very Long Engagement
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Life is Beautiful
Whale Rider

Okay.........I just realized this is kind of confusing. I live in England so that would make American movies foreign. Compromise.........most films are made in America.........so anything not made in America is........well......foreign. Non-American movies=foreign and American made movies=not foreign. I hope that makes sense.......

I'm afraid that I don't agree with you at all there. Two of my favourite films of all time are German - Life Is Beautiful and Goodbye Lenin. Both excellent, original and generally astounding.
I also loved Amelie and House of Flying Daggers, as well as all of those other martial arts foreign films like Hero and Ong-Bak. They're modern day classics, pure and simple.

Actually, you would be surprised how many movies come out of India. They call them Bollywood films because of the mass-production coming out of there. I just thought I would mention that.
