Post subject:  Problem with Kingdom of Heaven
Did anyone catch that in the first battle scene in the woods, the bearded fellow was shot in the neck with an arrow . . . and continued fighting for the rest of the battle! It just seemed unrealistic to me. It was a good movie otherwise.

yea Kitoky thats wat i thought lol - it is a good movie just a bit hard for me to follow (cause i'm stupid:D) and very gory!!!

normally i like my war/historic/kinda gory films like my brother but this wasn't a "best movie" for me - but it is good!!

Yes, well Boromir managed to fight with two arrows in him and stay alive long enough to talk to Aragorn with three in him. Plus I didn't think the bolt hit anything crucial. The guy did eventually died.

I think the neck is kind of crucial . . . He should have at least only lasted like 30 sec.

He was not insulting the movie. He even thought it was a good movie. Lord Legendel was just commenting on how unrealistic it felt to him in that particular scene.


Now this is a discussion about it --- please contribute to it. Don't make threats as you have violated not one, but two rules of the A-U Forum. One being to always be polite and nice to another member. Never offend another member or cause trouble. Another rule is that there should never be a post all in caps, because it both is considered to be rude yelling and/or spam.

Well as long as the bolt didn't do these things:
# Close the airway causing asphyxia or anesthesiologination
# Close the carotid arteries
# Close the jugular veins

or cause a cervical fracture, I'm sure the guy could at least kill a few people before he died. Plus he was on the ground for the first half of the battle, killed some people and then got shot some more. It really wasn't that he got up and walked around with Godfrey and Balian.

well he did get shot in the chest twice later on in the fight so i think the bolt in his neck was probably keeping him alive (it happens!) as sometimes a thing can happen whereas the weapon keeps a person alive until it is removed (I've seen it on CSI!)

Yeah, my sister, who happens to be a Nurse, said that as long as he didn't take the bolt out, he could survive for a little while longer. Certainly long enough to kill a few guys in that fight.
