So, I just watched the Oscars. And I can say I was very surprised at Best Picture. Even though I believe they all deserved it, I was a little disappointed that Brokeback didn't win. But I'm very happy for Ang Lee who won for director. And I'm very happy that Phillip Seymour Hoffman won for best actor. Even though Heath was unbelievable, I think Phillip really deserved it. Very happy for March of the Penguins and Wallace and Gromit. And very surprised at Best Song. Hmmm. I was sad that Batman Begins didn't win anything, but I was glad that King Kong and Chronicles of Narnia brought home some awards. And in the end, John Stewart basically rocked everyone's socks off.

I was also a bit dissapointed when Brokeback didn't get Best Picture. I haven't seen Crash, though I've heard it was really good and I'm sure it deserved it. I'm still disappointed At least Ang Lee got best director, and Brokeback got best adapted screenplay

Best Song: I was surprised as well. I think John Stewart summed it up when he just started laughing. I found it hilarious how he pointed out that they were more excited than anyone else.

King Kong got a ton! I wasn't a fan of the movie, but congrats to PJ and his team. I was thrilled that Andy Serkis was thanked TWICE! W00t!

Oh and Ben Stiller. Maybe it's sad that I found that hilarious It seriously was though.

I didn't get to watch them this year because they were only on Sky Movies. Stupid BBC not bidding for them

Anyway I was suprised but pleased that Crash won best picture. I did really like Brokeback Mountain but I think Crash was even better. I'm glad that Reese Witherspoon won, she was excellent in that film and I thought she might. George Clooney winning suprized me though I had thought that it would be Jake Gyllenhaal but I suppose Brokeback at least got best director which was cool

Oh and yay for Wallace and Gromit

It's a great film - everyone should see it

Yay for Reese and Wallce and Gromit! Altough I'm surprised that Crash won best picture. And Philip Seymour was fantastic in Capote, I'm glad he won too. I'm also glad that, for once, the Academy got it reasonably right.

I did watch the Academy Awards life, but here in Austria they began at 1:00 in the morning and ended at about 5:20. It was really tough for me to stay this through!
But I was so happy when King Kong got the three Oscars, I jumped up and down!! It was great; I think, most of the films really deserved the awards they got!

We don't have Sky so a neighbour taped it for us. My brother stayed up and watched the backstage stuff on the internet. I am glad King Kong won 3 awards but the Oscars were over for me when Wallace and Gromit won!! YAY!! I am so pleased for them as they really deserved it. I would have been in a bad mood today had they not won. I'm glad Rachel Weisz on because she was in the Mummy one of my favourite films!

Yea I totally agree, I was so upset I couldn't watch them because they were on Sky.
I was kind of upset Narnia only got 1, I thought it was really good, and Harry Potter didn't get any. I loved King Kong but all the rest I'd never heard of! I still miss the 2004 Oscard where good old LotR got 11.!!



Yea I loved the Mummy too!

Curse of the Were Rabbit looked good, and they also made Chicken Run which I love!

I only watched the first few awards, was way too tired to stay up to the wee hours. Only really wanted to watch as I love Jon Stewart. The man is just so so so funny.
Some interesting winners though.
Crash really surprised me as did George Clooney. Although no doubt deserved.

I'd heard George was gonna pull a "Michael Moore" this year, sadly he didn't lol
Ach well.

Might watch the highlights later on tonight. See all the bits I missed.

I saw Goodnight and Good Luck on Friday and am kind of disapointed it didn't win anything, though I suppose they still rewarded George Clooney by giving him best supporting actor.

I have to admit, I was very suprised and sad that Brokeback didn't get the Best Picture. However congratulations to everyone who worked on BBM by getting three other awards

I'm pretty sure that Crash deserved the Oscar, but what suprised me is that a lot of people said that they wanted BBM to get it... so to get a change like that was a bit suprising.

I thought it was great that W&G got an Oscar--go UK! I'm sad though that Keira missed out, but Reese deserved it, she's a fantastic actress

I'm happy Rachel Weisz won, I really do like her. The Mummy of course was an awesome movie!

I expected Reese to win, and I think she's a really good actress so good for her

I just discovered that the director of Crash was Canadian so GO CRASH! I really should see it.

I love George Clooney, and though he didn't get his other two categories, at least he got best supporting actor. I think he really deserves it.

I'm glad Narnia got one, I wish they had gotten more, though. I think it's sad Pride and Prejudice didn't get anything! I love that movie, and the music! And actually those are the only movies out of those nominated that I've seen! lol
