Has anyone seen this movie, or remember it?
I love this movie. I still find it sad that it was based off of a true story though
The music is so awsome in this movie. I sing to Once Upon A December all the time.

Ah yes, I remember this movie. When I was little it used to scare the dickens out of me for some reason, but then I found that I really liked it. It's a beautiful movie, but the story is sad...

Ah, I really loved this movie, the song was really beautiful too!
I always loved the character of Bartok, the bat.
Jep, it's a really sad story, I thought that they've never found the real Anastasia in reality.

This movie scared me when I was really young, but as I got older I liked it.
Oh yeah, I hum to that song as well! So pretty.
But I don't thin there really was an Anastasia that survived. From what I've learned, the story of one of the Czar children still living was something that people made up.
Of course, no one can be absolutely sure.

That's what I think too Gwen, but I've heard stories people made up about her not being killed. Some women have even tried to convince people that they are the real Anastasia come out of hiding or something.

I'm happy to see that other people like it too.
The first time I saw this movie I think it scared me too, but like the rest of you the older I got the more I started to love it.
And I agree with you Will, Bartok was cool.

I completely disagree with it. PM if you want to know why, I'd be getting deep into forbidden teritorry.
The reason that they think Anastasia might have survived is because they didn't find two bodies when they found the Tsar and his family.

Wow, I remember after it came out we watched it in my World History class in High School....well parts of it
He had just finished studying that period in history. My favorite fun fact was when they brought the family into the basement of the castle to kill them, however when they were fired upon by the militia, the bullets would ricochet off because the family had placed sewn in all of their coins into the inside of their dresses, so the miltia thought they were posessed....
After studying this time in history, I disagree with the movie as well, because of the proven facts of what happened. However, in conclusion, I enjoyed the movie! I liked the bat! Ha! At least I think he resembled the bat, I haven't seen the movie in 4 years...

Yeah, Sid, I remember watching it in my World History class too...Almquist never varies. I loved the bat...Bartok I think his name was...Disney sidekicks are usually hilarious!
Such a sad story! Almost the saddest part is how many girls pretended to be Anastasia, just to get all that money.
Of course the story isn't accurate, when has Disney ever cared about historical accuracy?

Well its Disney, do you really expect it to be historically accurate?
As for a movie though, I love it. I guess I've only seen it a few times, and its been awhile, but its definately one of my favorite disney movies. I love the songs--especially the one when she's remembering all the people dancing in the castle.

I heard that it was based off of a true story, thanks for telling me that it wasn't. *I mean that in a good way* I haven't learned about that period of history yet, maybe next year. *shrugs*
Oh, didn't you guys know that Anastasia isn't Disney. It's Fox family entertainment. I thought that it was disney for a loong, until I realized that they were given no credit and that the movie didn't have thier little signature thingy in the begining.
@Gwen: I know, I love that dress. That is one of my favorite parts of the movie.

Oh really? Huh, I'd always thought it was Disney, too.
Well, it actually is based off a true story...more like a true idea. But the quest for the real Anastasia was real. One of the major differences had to do with who the Czar were...let me just say that Anastasia's kind, warm, handsome father isn't exactly who the real guy was. We did a bit of studying of the Russian Revolution in 20th Century History last year.

"A true idea" I like that expression Gwen
So the Czar in the film was not like the real one? What was the real on actually like, may I ask?
