Hey everyone! Did you see this movie?!

I did on the release date and I was truly fascinated! Well... we all know the end of the story (though the movie does go to the very end of MA) but I watch it from an eye I didn't expect... It's like a fairy tale without the happy ending stuff but the whole movie passes like a dream, dream of a woman.
We (in France) are used to see the Revolution like a major evenement in our history, bearer of new ideals and so on... (and it is in some way) but there, on the screen, it really freaked me out! LOL! To show it from the "other side" was bold and it truly moved me...

So?! What did you think about it?! :)

Sorry, Sid, I checked IMDB and the official website, and I couldn't find the U.S. release date anywhere!
I want to see this movie, too, though I have doubts about Kirsten Dunst as Marie Antoinette. I like Kirsten Dunst and everything, but I'll have to see the movie to be convinced. And the costumes! Amazing!

I saw the trailer last night, and it looks interesting, at least. I'm not really a big fan of Kirsten Dunst, but I'm willing to give it a chance.

Just out of curiosity, Nessameldë, how do the French view the Revolution?

^Yeah, that would be pretty interesting to know!

And, I actually think Kirsten Dunst won't mess this role up, I really see her in it..but feh, that just me. =P

It's an interesting question actually Bellethiel! ^^

Well you see, the Revolution is a real "national pride": I mean July 14th is our national day and the bringing on democraty , its values "liberté, égalité, fraternité" and so on... I believe its the same for all countries who ever knew the fact of Revolution...

What's a bit desapointing is that, I think, we forget too oftenly that these changes took place in the blood of others humans being... Fortunately, this is more and more changing and what a century ago appears as to be a necessary thing to kill the royal power image is not so sure nowadays...

Lol! I don't know if I made myself clear but I hope so... lol!

And yeah, Kristen Dunst is perfect! Sha has made up a very vivid character!^^

^ Yup! I think it made sense....it's interesting to see that. We're taught about how much of a scandal it was after and during the revolution.

I was interested in seeing it as well, I don't think I've ever seen some many costumes on one woman in my life in movie history! That's mostly why I wanted to see it. :-D

I didn't know about this movie, but now I want to see it, because I love Kirsten Dunst and I did a report about Marie Antoinette this year in my world history class!

Personally, I think it's a fascinating subject, and will mak for a good movie. Marie Antoinette has perhaps had a distorted picture drawn of her over the years, so it's always good to get a new take on the events.

Then again, just for purposes of this movie, I can't ewait to see if Kirsten Dunst loses her head. She kinda bugs me.
