Post subject:  Moulin Rouge
Featuring Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman.

I discovered the movie in the past month's time, and got it for my birthday 2 days ago, and have almost memorized all the songs.

At first I thought the idea of taking modern and orginal songs, and twisting and putting them into medlies was odd, but i really think it was a rather fun and uniquue idea.

I'll admit I cried at the end, but I really REALLY enjoyed this movie..I love it, it's become my new favorite, after LOTR and POTC of course. =)

Anyone here share my opinion?

I really REALLY love this movie! It's spectacular, besides the fact that it's incredibly sad, it's also incredibly beautiful. I don't watch the end every time I watch it, just because it's so sad!

Ewan's voice is great, and Nicole Kidman did a good job too. The guy who played the Duke must be a great actor, because I don't think he is so creepy in real life.

I think that my favorite songs are "Your Song," "Elephant Love Medley," "Come What May," and "Hindi Sad Diamonds." I might have forgotten some of the songs, temporarily blanking :blink:

Oh god. I worship this movie. :P

I admit, I didn't see it when it first came out. My friend had to sit me down to see it. But by the end, I was in love with it. It's such a beautiful story. And everyone did such a great job. Ha ha ha...I like how you used the word "spectacular" Larien. ;) "Spectacular, spectacular..." *breaks out into song...* :P Ha ha ha.

The guy who plays the Duke really isn't a creeper. But it's a mark of a good actor to be able to play one. I've seen him in something else...and he was really cool. Maybe it's just that bloody mustache. Ha ha ha.

Can I say ALL the songs are my favourite? I mean, Come What May, Your Song and Elephant Love Medley are kind of a given...maybe for me. :P But El Tango De Roxanne is probably one of my favourites as well. Ha ha ha. So I love all of them. I don't have both CDs, I have the second one, but I burned the other from, was it you, Larien? Ha ha ha. I can't remember. :P

The first time I saw it, I was literally bawling at the end. It was just SO heartwrenching. I could hardly breathe. :P Something about guys crying...especially Ewan's ability to cry...just gets to me. I tear up still every time I watch it. But I do finish it. Unlike Larien.

And being a theatre freak, I love it for all of the theatre aspect to it. :P Just everything about it is amazing.

Oh, and did anyone else catch that DAVID WENHAM'S in it?! Ha ha ha!!!! I told Larien and Sida...but I was watching it once and was reading the credits...and saw his name...next to AUDREY!!! Ha ha ha!!! You can't even tell it's him!!!! HA HA HA!!! Except maybe the nose, if you look very very very very closely! ;) Ha ha ha. Just thought I'd share that bit of info! :P

Oh, and I love Ewan's voice too! Who COULDN'T?! :) :) Yay for Moulin Rouge!!!!!!!!

And yeah, i was commenting to my brother how good of an actor the Duke was, but *squee* Ewan just...wow..he's so cuuuute!

This movie is amazing!!! I cried too when I first saw it. One of my favorite things from the movie has to be the wardrobe :-D

Oh, I LOVED the costumes! I think they're fantastic! My favourite one of Satine's is probably either the red dress...or the one where she goes to tell Christian that she's chosen the Duke. :P

I loved the sets most of all. One of my favourite parts is when Zidler is singing "The Show Must Go On" or whatever that song is called....and it just pans through backstage and such....SO cool! I'm a theatre tech freak...so that is just SO cool. Makes me wish I was back stage.

My Vote: LOVE IT EVEN MORE THAN THE FIRST OPTION!


I saw it when it came out on the cinemas and I've been in love with it ever sence ! I watch it like every day still :lol:

my god mrs. Gamgee i saw the movie with you and you just meeelted everytime ewan sang....i really did love the movie, tho in the end she wouldnt hurry up and die, i know it sounds kinda mean but it took a long time.....


it was sad tho, and the roxane part was awesome, the argeninian voice was rather harsh but i like alot
and in the wardrobe part i have to say the dress she wore to meet the duke after she told christian off...and that necklace was just awesomeeeee

Was he the Duke?! That's is so strange... I LOVE him in Van Helsing!

I think I knew about David's role, though. You can faintly see the resemblance on a still picture.

I thought the movie was great. I love listening to the soundtrack! In a lot of ways, I think some of their versions of the songs are better than the originals!

Yeah. SO shocking. I mean, compare Audrey to Faramir...:blink: Ha ha ha!!! Larien, Sida, and I were like FREAKING out! Ha ha ha.

Yeah, I technically OWN the "Moulin Rouge! 2" CD...but then I burned the first one. :blush: I know, I should have bought it...but I'm a poor college student. :P And I listen to them CONSTANTLY!

Mornie has a point, she saw the movie with me, and i was DYING! Ewan's voice is just so..ANGELIC!

Has anyone seen the movie with the "Behind the Curtain" special feature?
Sort of interesting and entertaining, though there's not too many of them. But it's fun!

And wow, Richard, is such a great actor!
