I just read Red Shift by Alan Garner. It was very weird and I'm sure I didn't understand half of it.  It's something I think I'm going to have to think about/maybe read again to get... But I enjoyed reading it and found it hard to put down.

Jane Eyre? Weird? I haven't heard anyone say that before. I'm curious, what aspect did you find weird?
I'm probably defensive of the book because it's one of my favourites and I've read it at least once a year since I was 12.
I just read The Whole Business with Kiffo and the Pitbull which was an amusing but rather sad story about a conflict between two students and their new English teacher. I really enjoyed it, so I'm trying to find the sequel...
