"The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak

I picked it up three hours ago and haven't been able to force myself to put it down for more than about five minutes at a time.

Mind telling me if that's worth reading after you finish? :D I'm wary of anything that's not by Weis and Hickman because I've been disappointed half the time.

Empire by Orson Scott Card.

Prince Caspian - Finally! :D Now I'm all hyped about the movie! :jump: I love Lewis. Wonderful author! Narnia is a fantastic series, and his other works (Mere Christianity, Screwtape Letters, and the like) are brilliant. :)

My dad just gave me City of Joy to read... Heard it was very inspiring, so we shall see. :P

@timmeh: it's one of my faves, right up there with LotR. The "A Typical Hans Hubermann Artwork" is one of the best things ever.

Still reading "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak
And "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens

Oh my god, it is so amazing. Quite possibly my favorite book, and I haven't even finished. The way Zusak writes is unbelievably poetic, and so vivid. I love Max. I don't think I've been so emotionally invested in a book character in years.

"I..." He struggled to answer. "When everything was quiet, I went up to the corridor and the curtain in the living room was open just a crack. ...I could see outside. I watched, only for a few seconds."
He had not seen the outside world for twenty-two months.
There was no anger or reproach.

It was Papa who spoke.
"How did it look?"
Max lifted his head, with great sorrow and great astonishment.
"There were stars," he said. "They burned my eyes."
