^Lol, and you carefully succeeded in not mentioning the book itself at all in your post! But you made me want to google pictures and interviews now. :P

Gah, my bad! Can't believe I forgot that post important bit... Anyway, you can read my opinion here!

Currently reading: The Pianist by Wladyslaw Szpilman.

Okay, to be perfectly honest, I went into this book slightly bias. I didn't figure ANYTHING could be as emotional and gripping and beautiful as The Pianist movie. But I was wrong.

I see now that the movie was only doing the book justice. I haven't cried so much in reading a book since... well probably since 'I Am The Messenger.' Very beautiful.

Persuasion by Jane Austen... I'm about half-way through it and it's becoming more tolerable now. :-)
Sorry, never was a romance-girl.

^I'm with you there, Ea! I've only read a handful of romance novels, and was impressed by even fewer of them. I usually like romance in other genres, as long as it's well written and doesn't take over the book, but just romance? I usually pass.

I just started reading Dragon Wing by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

Ugh, I shelve the Harlequin romance novels when I'm working at the library sometimes. They make me want to find a paper shredder - SO much junk. I really like romance if it's done well, because I AM slightly girly and romantic, but those...bleh. I don't think I've ever read a novel I liked in which the romance was the central and dominant plot line. (As an aside, my favorite romance-containing book ever is called Mara, Daughter of the Nile. I love that book so much. It could have something to do with my Ancient Egypt fascination.)

Anyway, right now I'm reading Renegade's Magic (Robin Hobb, Soldier Son trilogy #3) and it's rather slow. I want some action. Also still on Throne of Jade by Naomi Novik, and lastly The Discovery of King Arthur by someone whose name I forget. It's about the historical basis for Arthurian myth and it's completely fascinating.

Well I FINALLY finished "Brisingr" last week and one of my friends lent me "Twilight."

I'm not exactly reading it currently because I finished it yesterday. XD It made me laugh a LOT while I was reading it. But it was a good, fluffy read. Nothing spectacular. I'm interested in reading the rest of the series just to have something fun to read and curious to see if they are as "fluffy" and ridiculously hysterical as the first. XD
