Those books make my brain turn into jelly for hours after reading. I just walk around in a dazed state, incapable of doing anything intelligent. It's frightening.
Just finished Airman by Eoin Colfer (I'm hoping that's how his name is spelled) and also finished 1984 (loved it, actually)... and have almost finished Violin by Anne Rice. It's slow going though... I love the bits about music... but the bits about ghosts and dying and such are rather tedious.

The Book of Three by Lloyd Alexander. I love reliving my childhood.

I just got The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger from the library. I didn't see the movie.

City of Ember - by someone. Don't remember who. Just finished it, actually. It was cool.
Started The Book Thief - geez, is it just me, or is that book seriously hard to get into? I dunno... but I gave up on it after 30 pages. I'll have to try again, though. I've heard amazing things about it... but, yeah...

^I've heard a lot of other people say that. Personally, I was hooked from the first page. But then again... I read Charles Dickens for recreation, so wordiness has never bothered me.
Just finished "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy and started "A Tale of Two Cities" by Dickens. Again. <3

The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay. I'm not finished it and I'm a complete Kay fan - his writing style has this quality to it that's difficult to describe; simple, but very symbolic, and beautifully flowing. Not to mention the Arthurian element (squee).

Aww, how did you like The Road? I've just finished No Country For Old Men. Absolutely brilliant book, so I'm considering reading The Road now.
I'm still reading The Devil Wears Prada and it's pure torture - will somebody please shoot me?!

I love the story. The missing grammar irks me just a little, but overall it's a great book, well worth reading.
Got "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman today.

^I finished American Gods on Monday.
Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman
The Book Thief - Marcus Zusak
For the like hundredth time now.
Aaaaaand
Invisible Monsters - Chuck Palahniuk
Honestly, probably my favorite book.
Quote: Just remember, the same spectacular Vogue magazine, remember that no matter how close you follow the page jumps: Continued on page whatever. No matter how careful you are, there's going to be the sense you missed something, the collapsed feeling under your skin that you didn't experience it all. There's that fallen heart feeling that you rushed right through the moments where you should've been paying attention.

I am currently reading 'Perfume, story of a murderer' by Patrick Süskind. I am reading the book in it's original language, wich is German, but I have to do it for school. I really like the book and I think the story develops in a fascinating way. I can recommend it to everybody!

I've heard amazing things about it... but, yeah... i gave up on it, too. i have no problem with authors experimeting with different ways of telling a story, but i found this pretentious - it felt like the author was trying to be different and clever for the sake of it - and that really irritated me. Fencing Maiden wrote: Got "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman today. looove american gods. there's a bit where he's describing how cold it is, and despite the fact that i was reading it on a lovely sunny day, for a while i wouldn't get out of bed because i was convinced it was freezing outside - that's how engrossed in the book i was. i just finished reading that (in translation). i really liked it, but to be honest i preferred the film. it's very rare that i prefer a film adaptation to the original novel (the only other instance i can think if is little women), but i found that the film tweaked all the little bits of the novel that i didn't like or i felt were inconsistent. plus, the film stars the ever-wonderful ben whishaw, who achieves the remarkable feat of portraying grenouille as a amoral creature who you don't feel the slightest sympathy for, while at the same time making you interested enough in him to keep watching.
anyway, i'm reading on the road by jack kerouac.

Just finished The Book Thief yesterday - Ok. I take back what I said. And I would highly reccommend to anyone. It was just... I dunno. Awesome. It was awesome. Had me in tears at the end, honestly...
Because of Winn-Dixie - this was like a 45 min read. My little sister had it, and I was bored... meh... whatever.
