I just finished reading some of Douglas Adam's books. I loved them! They're so hilarious! One of my favorite parts is when the Starship Heart of Gold picks up Arthur and Ford. "Ford, you're turning into a penquin. Stop it."

It's in "The Salmon of Doubt", which is a collection of articles/stories and so on, and is definately worth reading. I think it's also in "The Wizard of Od", which is a collection of stories by various authors.

I've started Mostly Harmless. It's hilarious!
I want to read Salmon of Doubt. They don't have it at my library, though.

^ Yeah, it was funny, but it was kindof ... strange. I mean, I´ve read books from 1-4 and the movie was totally not following the story ... But the "find Trillian & rescue her" part was awesome ... The VogEarth. =D

I saw the movie too, some of it I liked, some of it I didn't like as much. I definitly liked the books better. They cut out some of my fave lines in the movie! lol

I got interested about Douglas Adams – fasten your seat belts – because Richard Dawkins, the ethologist and Darwinist, ever and again mentioned him in such an approving manner in some of his books. Bought the first three H2G2 books in German translation, blazed through them in two days (when something catches my attention seriously, I can read very fast, and they were only 660 pages of small paperback format!), then went on a buying (ordering) rampage at my favorite local bookstore (with the odd confused look by the staff) which netted all six H2G2 books (including Eoin Colfer’s brilliant posthumous 2009 “And Another Thing …”), the Dirk Gently books, and the biographies by M.J. Simpson (the somewhat critical one), Nick Webb “Wish You Were Here” (the authorized one), and Neil Gaiman “Don’t Panic” (the earliest one from 1988, expanded by David K, Dickson in 1993, M.J. Simpson – yes, the one above – in 2002, and Guy Adams in 2009), and The Salmon Of Doubt. The late addition was a 2010 German book titled (in translation) “The Science of Douglas Adams” – think about similar titles very definitely for Star Trek.

I went from zero to nerd V E R Y quickly. :notworthy:
