That was more the fickle fans latching onto the Seattle/Grunge/Sub:Pop sound.
They were looking for something different, an alternative to the hair bands from L.A
Music, specifically rock and metal goes in cycles.

I heard "Polly" and it made me sad. Kurt struggled a lot in life. And when he pulled that trigger, he robbed us all. (Cause his music is unique and rare--and I don't think anyone can reach him)

Nirvana was extremely powerful and innoventive.
Although, the death of Kurt Cobain brought the Rap Era. X_X

Man, I USE to LOVE rap. But that was just a stupid phase. Cause nowadays, I find myself only listening to Green Day, Nirvana, My Chemical Romance, Fall-Out Boy, Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Bush, even oldies like Guns N Roses, Led Zepellin, or Def Leperd.
I just HOPE that the rap era will end soon. And that rock can dominate again. That's why I'm glad that Green Day, The Killers, MCR, and others are getting big.

I know this is off topic but:
True Rock won't dominate for another 100 years.
Good music travels in cycles.
There is no more Led Zeppelin, the Doors,Jimi Hendrix,The Beatles,Nirvana, The Who, The Ramones..etc.
" That was which, is gone forever, lost til they become reborn..."

I'm reading Heavier than Heaven which is a bio on Kurt Cobain. Some really sad, personal things in it.

Oh I read that, NirvanaPunk! It is really tragic. I'd give my right arm to go back in time to see Nirvana in concert. I wish they were still around.
Well at least we've got the Foo Fighters. I heart Dave Grohl!

Yeah, Dave's cool. But Nirvana's irreplaceable to me.
I love the Beatles, Ramones, Clash, Coldplay, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, U2, Sex Pistols, Black Sabbath, Judas Priests, etc, but there's no other like Nirvana for me.
Just consider my username, lol

^I totally agree, Nirvana Punk! There has never been and never will be another Nirvana! Period. Paragraph. End of story.

Nirvana are one of my all time favourite bands. Kurt Cobain was an amazing lyricist, he had an amazing imagination and the balls to put it all together. I really admire him, and i envy his talent. My favourite nirvana song is Heart-Shaped Box ... also Aneurysm ... Smells like Teen Spirit ... Floyd the Barber and Lithium lol i can't pick just one
Its a shame that he wasn't happy, but maybe thats why he was so brilliant. Most people who really make a difference, be it music or anything else, have troubled lives. THey use something negetive and turn it into something negetive. BUt for kurt i think he was to far gone to save himself really.
I believe he shot himself, and i can respect anyone else's opinion that courtney love killed him. But i feel sorry for her non the less
Frances Bean looks JUST like him, its seriously creepy.

Yeah Frances is like his clone in a XX version, haha
I could never pick one Nirvana song. That's why they're my favorite band. His passionate screams were awesome. It added emo to his music (*ahem* MTV Unplugged CD). Dave's drums are kick-ass. And the way Krist strokes each guitar string is hypnotizing. The radest band ever.
I saw Lithium, the video, yesterday on a hispanic music channel (MTV is all about reality tv and pop/rap).
My Nirvana Songs (in iPod):
~Lithium
~Smells Like Teen Spirit
~Big Cheese
~Rape Me
~F.F. will Have her Revenge on Seattle
~Radio Friendly Unit Shifter
~Do You Love Me?
~In Bloom
~Heart-Shaped Box
~Polly
~Terrestrial Pissings
~Come As You Are
And the ones on MTV Unplugged CD (probably my fav..??)
~Where Did You Sleep Last Night? (the screams are AWESOME!!!!!)
~The Man Who Sold the World
~All Apologies
~About a Girl (written about Tracy Marander, ex-gf)
Oh, gawd, there's so many more, but I don't have a good memory. Kurt is my favorite artist and I believe he should be honored publicly A LOT, since he doesn't even have a burial place. I know I was like 3 or 4 when he was rockin' out, but I wish I was there and I'm so grateful for his music.
Have any of you noticed that in most of his songs, he doesn't mention the track title?? Except Come As You Are or Polly.....interesting

LOl i have the hole greatest hits album, in utero and Bleach in my ipod they and seether take all up all my space
I wish i had the unplugged album i only have Pollu, Lake of Fire and Where did you sleep last night from that album, tho i have it on video.
I think that kurt should be honoured for being so ... inspirational, i mean any good band around now days was influenced at least a little by Nirvana. But when you think about it, he would turn in his grave (that is if he wasn't cremated ). He hated publicity. And i don't blame him, thats the serious draw back of having your talent recognised
