I got it to work! I had to install both the unsupported iTunes plugin AND the main one.  Now as soon as it stops recommending Bjork (:yuck:) I'll be happy.

You only have to download the Audioscrobbler plugin:
http://www.last.fm/tools/downloads/
Scroll down to Audioscrobbler plugins and select the one for the player you use. Download it, open the audioscrobbler exe file [the one you just downloaded] and just do what it says! _________________

That's like a drop and drag thing though. You click it and it's automatic.
Those other things are a wee bit more involved..and I am Techno-Bimbo.
