Yay I love the Chieftains! They played the music for the old Treasure Island movie (with Christian Bale and Charleton Heston) which is not only a great movie, but has great music! My dad has The Best of the Chieftains CD, which I listen to all the time. I didn't know Nickel Creek played with them! Which song(s)?
Guess what... Nickel Creek is coming to my city in August! I'm excited beyond words!
I've also heard rumors that they're "breaking up" or at least that Sara is going to do a solo project... anyone know if this is true?

I did not hear anything like that about Nickel Creek, but on the Chieftians album, they sing "The Raggle Taggle Gypsy". You're going to see them in August, right?

yup! they're playing at a festival downtown. And supposedly the concert is free... but I think there is a fee to get into the festival itself, but only like $5 or something. Weee I'm excited!

Double posting. But that last post was a long time ago, so its okay.
I saw Nickel Creek yesterday. Oh. My. They are so wonderful in concert! Everything you could ever hope for and more! They are really good performers and put on a really great show. They played a cover of Britney Spears' "Toxic" and Randy Newman's "Short People"--- both very funny! Chris got really into Toxic and Sara does a great whiney wail. Short People was also great because Sara and Sean are both REALLY short, and its just funny to see a short person singing so passionately about how much they hate short people.
If you think Chris' mandolin skills are amazing from just hearing him, its nothing like seeing him. His hands are moving so fast, and he's so relaxed and dancing all over the stage the whole time. I wish I had pictures, but I don't *sigh*
I think that was the first bluegrass concert I've ever gone to.... and it was amazing. There was also a band called vee device playing before them, and while I didn't like the vocals much, they were incredible musicians.

Oooo! Nickle Creek is coming here too! They're playing in our old historic theater! It's so awesome! I'm trying to decide if I have time to see them! It would be so cool! They had a two or three page article in our local paper it was really cool! Ha, I thought of Belle, because she kept saying how much she loved them

Ooo! Guess what I got for Christmas? I got "Reason's Why: The Very Best" by Nickel Creek, I love it! I've been listening to it all the time! It's so awesome! I really love the first three songs "The Lighthouse's Tale", "Out of the Woods" and "When in Rome".
Oh, Apparently I've seen Nickel Creek in concert without knowing it, they came to our city's New Year's Eve Celebration "First Night" awhile ago and they performed right after the bagpipe band (In which I danced)....I stuck around and watched part of the show, without knowing it was Nickel Creek. Crazyness....I wish I could remember more of it, but it seems to be blurred by eating a crepe and getting really sick......Hmmm

Ooh! Are there any new, previously unrealeased songs on that album. Its kind of pointless for me to buy otherwise since I have their other 3 cds

All the songs are from their other albums, but they do include a disk with 6 or so music videos of them....
To be honest, I haven't watched the music videos yet, well I watched part of one....
