I also had some concerns about the impact of potentially corrosive link sweat on the case or the finish, but that's apparently not a concern either. Jacques told me that if something did actually happen to cause pitting on the case, you could always bring it back to De Bethune link for a link tune-up (though, at your own expense of course).
