Anyone here listen to Nirvana? I think their music is/was brilliant! Kurt Cobain was possibly one of the best songwriters ever I'd have to say. (I don't understand why someone with that much talent would kill themself, but we won't get into that. lol) He was such a brilliant guy. I mean, if you listen to Smells Like Teen Spirit, it's permanantly implanted in your brain forever. Thats how powerful it is to me. It's like...infectious! ha ha Anways....I'm rambling so I'm going to stop typing now..... :guitar:

Peace and Love,

mErRy! :bye2:

Actually the only Nirvana song I've ever heard is Heart-shaped Box, and that I've only heard with Evanescence doing it as a cover.

Yeah, some people think he was murdered...but I dunno.... I think the most commonly accepted theory is that he killed himself. I mean, he did try several times before his death to kill himself by overdosing with drugs...I dunno...lol

My absolute favorite band of all time! I am completely obsessed. I know every word to almost every song they have ever done. It hurts me to think of all the great stuff Kurt would've come up with had he not died. Told you I was obsessed. I think my favorite song is Blew. I like Smells Like Teen Spirit well enough. It is catchy. But it doesn't have the resonance and weight that his other songs have. For instance the song Polly, has such a sad story and profound meaning behind it. It is about a girl who was tortured and killed. Also Something In The Way is profound. It speaks about Kurt when he was homeless and without any hope. Beautiful. Hey I told you I was obsessed! :bounce:

Nirvana is my favorite band!!!

I love the MTV Unplugged CD. And I love that song "My girl"

"My girl, my girl
Don't lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep
Last night
In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun don't ever shine
I would shiver the whole night through"

I also love Lithium. I think that's my fav (but there's so many!)

"I'm so happy
Cause today I found my friends
There in my head
I'm so ugly
That's ok cause so are you
We broke all mirrors
Sunday morning's everyday
For all I care
And I'm not scarred
I light candles in my days
Cause I found God
YEEEAAAHH"

I started singing along to this part listening to my iPod and you won't believe the stares I got

"I'm so excited
I can't wait to meet you there
But I don't care
I'm so horny
That's ok my will is good"

But I also love:
All Apologies
Come As You Are
Breed
Smells Like Teen Spirit (classic)
In Bloom
Polly

And there's plenty that I can't remember. Like the one that is originally David Bowie's song. And the one that he wrote with Courtney.

"Sit and drink penny royal tea"

Even with Kurt's tragic death, Nirvana is an unreachable legend.

Ah yes... the Nirvana cover of "The Man Who Sold The World" was really brilliant. It was so pure. It really showcased Kurt's vocal range and abilities. Pennyroyal Tea is a great song. So sad, though. It is about abortion (which I totally don't agree with btw). It is very profound.

When I was in Chemistry the other day, the teacher was droning on and on, so I stared up at the Table of Elements and saw Li. Lithium! So I started humming Lithium. Ah. Good times.

Hmmm, I really want to buy the Nirvana boxed set. Hopefully I'll get it for Christmas or something.

Not a huge major fan. I remember them from years back when I bought Bleach.
This might not be popular, but for me Bleach is what Nirvana was about for me. Not Nevermind or anything that came after.

I love Nirvana, I'm a really big fan.
They were actually part of the problem of the downfall of the metal bands.
