Dude! CaribBEan sounds cooler. xD
So yeah, I say it BEan, actually I didn't know Caribbean was spelled like that....I always wonder between Caribbean and Carribean.

Well, I suppose it all has to do with upbringing. I grew up hearing "CaRIBbean" on TV and from relatives, and then in the movies I hear "CaribBEan," and it sounds weird. It was only a couple of years ago that I actually bothered to notice that they were the same thing. Well, since I grew up hearing "CaRIBbean," I'm probably bound to think it sounds better. Same for people who grew up with "CaribBEan."

Now I'm really confused.
I now pronouce it 'caribBEan', and I think I always have. Because it never occured to me there was another option.

usually CaribBEan, especially when referring to the movie.. but sometimes when I talk about the actual Caribbean it tends to come out as CaRIBbean
