Wow legolin! That's so cool! Hope you have a great time! Lithôniel wrote: That sounds like a lot of fun!! Was there any differences to the game? (other than flying and the game balls being enchanted of course! ) (oh, and by the way in case I've never commented on it, like your icon! hilarious movie!) Thanks! Um, well, we didn't have quite enough people for the four teams we were divided into, so some of the games had 5 players (2 chasers 1 beater 1 keeper 1 seeker) instead of 7 players ( 3 chasers 2 beaters etc.) It was similar to the muggle quidditch that some colleges play, but with a few rule changes. Beaters throw the bludgers at players to tag them out like freeze tag and seekers have to tag them back in. This works out all right for the seekers because the snitch ( someone running around with a bit of yellow fabric sticking out of his/her pocket) isn't released until 15 minutes into the game. Chasers can only take 4 steps while holding the quaffle before tossing it to another chaser, and we had a shortage of goal hoops as well so each keeper had 2 goals to guard instead of 3. It was really quite fun! I was a chaser most of the time.

Writing is so much fun, when it has the right characters. I love the main group so much, that I could easily write the whole book with them just hanging out. I have to keep reminding myself to move on with the plot.

I have to work on Thanksgiving evening. And Black Friday. Seriously, who the heck goes to a department store at midnight on Thanksgiving to buy clothes?!?!?

People who are desperate to get clothes for a low price? Just kidding though, I'm sorry to hear you have to work both days! Will you get some compensation in the form of some extra free days later on?

Well I have Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday off next week. I'm hoping that after working the holiday days I'll get next Sunday off too, and have the whole weekend.
So what's going on with everyone? Holidays are quickly approaching, who's ready?

Welcome back, Torziel! I so can't just write a short story. I tried, and now it's more of a novelette. Knowing me, it'll end up a novel before I'm done, or just not get finished.

(double post!) Ok, so working Thanksgiving wasn't horrible, but it wasn't fantastic either. It was at least later in the day where I could enjoy the holiday with family (also found out from my great-aunt who researches the genealogy of our family that I've got Irish in me. Now if only I had Australian too, I'd have two of my favorites in me! ). Holiday rush was a little overwhelming, people coming into the store for all the sales, but I handled it pretty well. The irritating thing was the district manager decided none of us could leave until we got 100 orders packaged and shipped out. Which means we had to print off orders people had made in other stores and go all around our store checking to see if we had those items, pulling them off the shelves, and then pack them up to ship them out. Yeah, that tedious task on top of the busy holiday shoppers. We didn't leave until 2:30am, I got home and got in bed at 3am. Then had to get up the next morning and get ready for work again, and my knee was sore from the day before. It was a long two days! Anyone else here have Thanksgiving plans? If so, hope they went well

I'm back too, after a short absence. A cat turned up in my garden. Me and my mum had to build a little house for it, and arrange for it to see a vet, to make sure it don't go out making more cute little kittys.
Then I had to work on a book idea some more, that I've been on and off with for a year. Seriously, writing a book is hard. Much harder than published authors make it out to be.

I know how you feel somewhat, Erin! I love to write, and when im on a roll, its all i can think about. When im doig dishes i plan the plot, etc. Unfortunately i always end up closing the story too early, and leaving loose ends throughout the story. Good luck! Hopefully you'll have better luck than i do, lol

I've tried so many times to write stories, and finished a few books. But those, I was writing for me, and made them up as I went along. This story, I thought it had potential to be great. I wrote some notes, and made alterations to the plot ideas. Everyone I've mentioned it to keeps telling me to get it published. I've changed my mind so many times with the plot, but this one, I think is exactly right. Everything fits together. It's just writing it. Trying to write enough to keep it going, but not to bombard the reader with too much detail to allow them to imagine it their own way.

Thats awesome! I never can get up enough courage to send my stories in to a publisher. My family tells me to though!
11 days until DoS, YAYYYYYYY! Is anyone going to a midnight premiere?

I doubt I'll go to a midnight showing, but I'm definitely going to the theater for it! I missed seeing the first two LotR movies in the theater, but I'm not going to miss seeing all of the Hobbit on the big screen!
